Really?

I actually enjoyed Left 4 Dead until it became repetitive, but even now it's still a good way to bust stress. I did buy the second game and preferred it, they were obviously trying to change things up, but it still eventually became tiresome and repetitive.

If they do it so that it doesn't become tiresome and repetitive, I'll be impressed, but I don't see it happening.

EDIT: Link I post removed. It's too late at night for me to understand satire straight away. Remains unconfirmed.
Huh, so it's not confirmed? One of my mates told me it was, but didn't link me to anything, hence my "apparently" when mentioning it.

Odds are they will do a 3rd one, and odds are it'll be just like the first 2 were. I'm not knocking them, they're good games. I still regularly return to L4D because there's something satisfying about spraying hot lead into a ravenous swarm of oncoming bloodthirsty mutated horrors.

But even though there's only 2, you're absolutely right. The games have been bogged down by their own repetitiveness. I gotta give em credit for the AI Director system, but it doesn't do much really. For me it just seems to hide behind corners, cheekily spawning witches in the middle of corridors I need to get down. Gun down one zombie swarm, you've gunned down them all.

I did a quick google and came across nothing confirming it. I suppose it'd be announced on Steam or the L4D website first.

Kill Zelda.

Nintendo have lost their touch.

That, or at least give it fucking voice acting for once.

I don't think I have ever wanted a series to end, and in reality - I have absolutely no idea why anyone would call for something like that. Seriously. If you don't enjoy the games, don't play them but there are still thousands of people out there that do. It's not hurting you one bit.
Though you have a fair point and you are right, you have to consider the fact that if the industry's pumping out identical game after identical game, or overusing an IP until it has lost all meaning, only harms the future of the gaming industry. Lack of original thinking means that these games will keep being produced, and if they sell, it means the gaming industry will think that hiring people to come up with original ideas is unnecessary.

Hmmm, do you feel offended by good games?

I don't think anything should be sacked, if there is a dummy out there that will play a game then let him have it, and the others can avoid it.

Final Fantasy - I've given this visual, audio and literary turd a chance almost 13 times and quite frankly I didn't even give my dog this many chances. Once Ol' Maxi couldn't walk properly or chew his food I put his ass to sleep, mourned his loss and got me a new one.

Pokemon. It should have ended long ago... It pains me too see it do flashy tricks to appeal to the new audience and it just ends up being crap :(

Left 4 Dead

first game was good. intense and occasionally pant-wetting in atmosphere. 2nd game could have been released as an expansion pack in reality, and now there's a 3rd game apparently confirmed.
Seriously? I love L4D and L4D2, but that seems a little to far.

Kingdom Hearts.... stop making all these damn side steps and move forward. I don't need another childbirth, sleepyhead, backofgameinformercodesection, or anything else but Kingdom Hearts 3. Also Shenmue and Half Life. Note I want these series to end as in the company releasing a sequel to finish the series. Now to a series I want to end because its getting redundant Bleach. After Aizen that should have been it. How are they gonna top that guy plus with Strawberry aka Ichigo losing his powers what else can they do? Oh I know either a new character comes and starts saving the day which I don't see happening with any of the humans orrrr Ichigo gets his powers back somehow, the end.

That's a fair & good point - but when I look at the series being listed by people here in this topic, I can see that they are just choosing series that they don't like for some arbitrary reason or for no real reason at all. Even series that are horribly overused can find redemption at one point or another. The new Lara Croft game, for instance.
I guess some series' can be redeemed, but when developers use them because they want to make money quickly with little effort, it's only damaging to the industry.

I am a massive Kingdom Hearts fan but even I agree the series has it's faults. However, EVERY single Kingdom Hearts game has added new plot elements and has contributed and moved the plot further. Just because a title isn't a numbered title, doesn't mean it isn't important to the series. When KH3 is released, and you go to play it without playing these games in between, you'll probably have no idea what is going on.

Pokemon I still love to play the games but it has to stop, and I believe in ending with a bang. So 3D sandbox Pokemon game where you can join Team Rocket and rise to the top and take over the world, or join the resistance thats fighting Team Rocket, and pokemon can die.

They see you trolling. They hating.

Battlefield 3, if it's like Battlefield 2, will genuinely be amazing. None of this Bad Company stuff other than the shinier graphics please.

And Valve have done no wrong. So. As your avatar states, STFU.

Pokemon. This series has been going on since my little brother was a wee little thing and now he's a police officer and bouncer at a strip club. And comparing the games of today with the originals, there's been no relevant upgrades to the series. Lets add a few new pets and call it Pokemon: Candy Apple and a few others and call it Pokemon: Digested Poo. Yup, there's another two years of getting paid without actually contributing to the gaming world. And with that, my rant is done. Thank you.
Whoa whoa whoa, haven't you seen Black and White? They've put a ton of upgrades into those games.

It's kind of annoying that they've waited this long to start trying on some bigger changes, but at least they're doing it now. And apparently it resulted in the best Pokemon game so far :3

I'm not saying they didn't add to the story but they were on handhelds which I don't really see the need to spend money on, plus I don't really care all that much. As far as not knowing what's going on I doubt that. I played KH2 before one and I figured out how they came to the sequel

I think that all the cheap children targeting TV show/movie adaptations need to stop. Its bad enough that some kids drool in front of their TV all day, but then they get a game system with some potential for expanding on their interests and their parents just think "oh they watch that show, so I'm going to shell out for the game too."
