Pyro is officially female.

If you watched Doomsday Arcade you might have found this out earlier... or if you updated. I thought the pyro was female anyways because in all the valve games I've played, there is a female main character. Why not TF2? Since none of the others are females obviously, that leaves one character to be female, the pyro.

It's a goddam joke, One that I'm getting tired of.

Seriously, this odd obession with the Pyro's gender is sickingly annoying. It's a goddam fire based class, You set stuff on fire. Gender doesen't seem like much of a obligation.

Besided's, Valve loves to tease and hint at the pyro's gender, in the blog post's He/She is repeatedly referd at as She and He, no gender is ever considered consistant.

When Valve offcicially comes out and says "Yeah, The Pyro's a Girl" I'll belive it, however, one bit of text isin't enough to convince me.

Also, One more thing, How is one bit of passing text "Official"?
I haven't followed this but doesn't the fact that it is one line of text in the game mean it is definitive? (I'm being serious I don't own TF2 or anything so I'm on the outside.)
As I mentioned before, Valve loves to tease at the Pyro's gender, it's not like this is the first time they've done it, They've repeatedly called Pyro a "She" on the blog, along with a "He"

Dunno, Maybe I'm wrong, But it just seems odd that they would reveal the Pyro's gender in such a nonchalant fashion.

Oh well, Maybe Valve's just trollin' again.

Still, I stand by the fact that the whole obsession is fucking sickening.

EDIT: That and it changes to him, So interestingly, it means it's not "Official"... Information Check FTW!
That's sad... not because Pyro's gender is decided or not but it would be nice to see female Character in a video games role beside escort mission, Dead weight or being kidnap. You know, we didn't get really far since Metroid came out.

PS: I mean a good female Character on a Good game that you can play... And Tomb Raider doesn't count, it bad by most standard.
Here's the thing:

Who says the Pyro's not?

See the reason I like the Pyro's ambigutiy is that it allows for speculations.

Who says the Pyro's NOT a Psychopathic Woman?

Who says the Pyro's NOT secretly a Robot?

Who Says the Pyro's NOT secretly a Man?

Who Says the Pyro's NOT secretly Ron Jeremy?

Who says?
I saw that has-been reality show by changing channel and saw RJ blurred... tool. I think he once what the holder of the longest, back in his day too. So no, it can be him.

Also, my point being WOMEN being other than Barby role in videogame or Being escorted. Being undefined mean that he or she can be anything and therefor not really work. If it was, it would solidify my point and be a Female character that's worth playing and not a C**T in another castle.

Jill Valentine? Maybe? Does she count?

Ok, her and Rebecca Chambers... and Claire Redfield. Now that i think of it, the resident evil series managed to escape that videogame trope until Resident Evil 4. Sheva don't count because you need to unlock her by beating the game. But there more Roll (Megaman reff) than Jill.

This is old news. Also it shouldn't matter. Better question. Where's pyro meet the team/cast video thing? Sure we know it's a her but they could have made a video with that muffle sound and have it play out like we should know what she's saying that could be funny. I would laugh.

Doomsday Arcade anyone? I agree with you there its mostly done just for fan service or to just say that they aren't sexist and have a female character in their game that isn't a borderline Navi. [small]Alex Vance is annoying as hell[/small]

According to the TF2 wiki, the Pyro has been refered to both as he and she, so the gender is still ambiguous.

they've always slipped in small female pronouns when referring to the Pyro

They also use male pronouns as well.

It's all to stir up this debate, because it's hilarious

Maybe one side's pyro is male, and ones is female

have you ever seen a woman in a fireman suit? those things make anyone look fat.

Because it stops your skin from melting into a pile of charred bloody goo.
