First and foremost we have a sweeping generalisation, A does X, A is a Y, therefore All A's do Y
Don't you mean All Y's do X?

It's the power of love, tolerance and harmony binding together to stem the waves of evil crashing through the internet tides. That's what the legends say, anyway. It's easy to be defensive when societal norms deem you unhealthily abnormal, grown men with pretty little ponies and all that, but all fandoms have those defensive buggers reaping all the attention. Just look at Twilight.

To get the flamestorm going, because I am in the mood

All bronies suck, MLP sucks, all bronies are secretly gay and pedophiles and want to have sex with little girls and also want to dress up as furries and want to f*ck horses and ponies.
All of them ever all the time and if you call them on it they will hate you and scream at you and point and scream and cry like b*tches.

Bonus Round:
Adventure Time sucks, especially that stupid yellow dog no-one likes and the show makes no-sense and everyone who watches it wants to have intercourse with little boys.

I do hope this post was badly enough written to make my humoristic intentions clear.

Ha, check again, I ninja edited after re-reading before you posted ;) Too many abstract concepts confusing me.

Nope? You're not mad? Didn't think so, clearly you are not a Brony because you don't seem to be getting mad (woo triple negatives, beat that). Report to Urgh for membership revocation :)

Oh no, I still had the time to quote it before you edited and I'll be more than happy with that! Living proof, right here, for all eternity, written in... pixels. Code. Stuff of the internet.

couple of things.

1. the community is rather inter-connected. Most things having to do with us is found by other fans, gets sent to brony related websites (the most notable one being EQD), where other fans observe/flock to the source. And since a lot of bronies congregate around websites like EQD, the amount flocking will be rather sizable. Further more, being that the whole brony phenomenon seems to be a controversial thing in the eyes of many, there is, and will be, a lot of flocking to do.

It isn't total rage, though. It's just a good amount of people wanting to give their opinion on things that (i'm guessing) are controversial. some of these opinions and points of view are ignorant, some are even very aggressive, but I've seen plenty that have remained logical and level headed.

2. Fans aren't the only ones doing this. ANYTHING controversial surrounding bronies is often linked not just to fans, but also to those who like to criticize fans. There are numerous times where I've seen posts on websites such as youtube where the same names have appeared, time and time again, to speak out against fans, as if there's some sort of policing going on.

So long as there's buzz and controversy floating about, you will -always- get this bizarre flocking of fans and criticizers.

TLDR: It's all a giant clusterfuck of opinions, skepticism, and shit people shouldn't care about, yet they do.

So what I can gather that its mostly the hardcore fans that are the most vocal about MLP? I may be misinformed about the general brony community but thats just it. Im looking at it from an "outsider" point of view.

As do I. Put the general consensus from people who dont watch the show is that AT fans are stoners who only watch it because the colors are cool to trip on lsd on or hyperactive manchildren.

And have you heard people saying they dont play COD online because they dont want to be screamed at by a 12 year old saying fag and the N word. Or the Sonic the Hedgehog deviant art jokes.

People latch onto the most negative parts of a fandom and blow it out of porportion. That's how it's so easy to make jokes about them. It's happening with MLP now because it's the cool thing to hate on right now.

No man! You have to write it like a youtube commenter.

I was wondering when the next Brony shitstorm was going to get here.

OT: Accident fallacy, over-generalization, lose 10 yards, repeat first down.

You believe ONLY Bronies do this? Hoo boy...

Dude this is akin to poking a wasp nest with no protective gear and giggling about it. You know it's wrong. You know it's stupid. Yet you do it none-the-less ... Why?

Don't create flame bait threads. You KNOW most don't. In your heart of hearts, you don't need us to tell you that every group has their loud obnoxious smelly people that no one actually likes.

The exact same reason why, when Rodger Ebert stated that games cannot be art, gamers raged so hard that some went so far as to sent him threats of bodily harm.

Nerds on the internet with to much time on their hands take things WAY to seriously.

Yup. You hit the nail right on the head.

The vocal ones make the vast majority of the good bronys look bad.

Also, you should really watch it some time. Just not the first episode. That one doesn't really do the series justice. I would suggest something from season 2, like the Apple Cider brothers episode (I can't remember the actual title).

I will also praise the show for having some great musical scenes. The smile song and the This Day aria are really neat songs.

Because the people that react the worse are the ones that "represent" us. The ones with the biggest mouth, the ones whos cries actually reach others are usually the worst example of a Brony, or fanboy in general.

This. Exactly.
Only the ones that throw fits get noticed. The cool-headed ones don't voice their opinions so loudly.

I have a question for Bronies. How come when ever someone or something "offends" Bronies or the community at large the whole sub-culture flies into a rage and attacks everyone and everything in sight? Now I have never watched or care to watch My Little Pony ever, I love Adventure Time. I dont label myself as "Non-Brony" and I dont really care if you label me a such. I just wanna know why Brony are always so defensive?
At what point in what must have been a deep and meaningful, truly thought-provoking and perhaps even spiritual, time in your life where you decided to, in the spirit of discovery and not at all in a hunt for a Hot Topic badge, did it occur to you that painting a large and disparate amount of peoples with a wide brush liberally applied with tar and generalisations would be a good thing?
