couple of things.
1. the community is rather inter-connected. Most things having to do with us is found by other fans, gets sent to brony related websites (the most notable one being EQD), where other fans observe/flock to the source. And since a lot of bronies congregate around websites like EQD, the amount flocking will be rather sizable. Further more, being that the whole brony phenomenon seems to be a controversial thing in the eyes of many, there is, and will be, a lot of flocking to do.
It isn't total rage, though. It's just a good amount of people wanting to give their opinion on things that (i'm guessing) are controversial. some of these opinions and points of view are ignorant, some are even very aggressive, but I've seen plenty that have remained logical and level headed.
2. Fans aren't the only ones doing this. ANYTHING controversial surrounding bronies is often linked not just to fans, but also to those who like to criticize fans. There are numerous times where I've seen posts on websites such as youtube where the same names have appeared, time and time again, to speak out against fans, as if there's some sort of policing going on.
So long as there's buzz and controversy floating about, you will -always- get this bizarre flocking of fans and criticizers.
TLDR: It's all a giant clusterfuck of opinions, skepticism, and shit people shouldn't care about, yet they do.
