I would not be able to take it seriously. I could never get into Lovecraft, I still have three of his books sitting in my room that I haven't been able to even begin to read. I start to pick it up, and I just can't crack it open for some reason. I feel incredibly apathetic towards the books. Being burned by the suckage that is Stephen King has left me jaded towards "great" horror writers.

C'Thulhu is an Old god created by H.P. Lovecraft. He is depicted as a Green Octopus Man monster with giant bat wings. He lives off of people's madness and devours their souls. Looking into his eyes can drive a man mad. Many people fear him and worship him. When he awakes from his dark under water city, Ry'leh, by the stars being aligned properly, he goes to destroy the earth. Those who worship him shall be eaten first and be spared him driving you mad. Those who don't, well, get tortured, made mad, and then get eaten.

Of course, this is all Fiction. But this thread is a "What Would You Do" Thread.
