"Drums, drums in the deep...They are coming!"
In the book, I could almost feel the sense of desperation in the words.

Nice Harlan Ellison reference!

Mine is:

"For I Beheld Satan as he fell from Heaven like Lightning!" M. Bison, Street Fighter
(The Way Raul Julia says it, He could make me read the bible if he narrated every passage like that)

"Help Me!" ~ Jennifer, Splatterhouse (Imagine having to kill your significant other while they scream that and simultaneously transform into a beast that will kill you if you don't do it first)

"Don't be a good neighbor to her. I'll send you a love letter, straight from my heart, Fucker! Do you know what a love letter is? It's a bullet from a fuckin' gun, fucker! You receive a love letter from me, you're fucked forever! You understand, fuck? I'll send you straight to hell, Fucker! ...In Dreams, I walk with you. In Dreams, I talk...to you. In Dreams, you're mine, forever...In Dreams..." Blue Velvet

"My Mind is going, Dave. I feel it. I feel it." 2001: A Space Odyssey

Pretty much the whole track, but the last words make it all the more creepy.

"I always wondered why birds choose to stay in the same place when they could fly anywhere on Earth.
...Then I asked myself the same question" -Unknown to me

"You might as well be dead. Seriously, if you always put limits on what you can do, physically or anything else, it'll spread over into the rest of your life. It'll spread into your work, into your morality, into your entire being. There are no limits. There are plateaus, but you must not stay there, you must go beyond them. If it kills you, it kills you. A man must constantly exceed his level" -Bruce Lee

"The surest way to corrupt a youth is to instruct him to hold in a higher esteem those who think alike than those who think differently" -Nietzshe

"I didn't do it right, but that doesn't mean I can't" -Unknown to me

"Hey, you out there.
Yes, you. I have something that for some reason, I felt the incredible urge to share
Don't get me wrong, I barely know you.
So what I have to say may not affect your life at all.
But it's still something I'm going to say, so please listen to me.
It's not your fault.
You're a human being like the rest of us.
Even successful people have problems.
And something else.
You're not a failure, you never were.
You may feel like you aren't doing anything with your life. That all day long you do 'nothing'.
But I just want you to remember this.
You're where you're right now,
because you wanted to be right here.
Doing nothing isn't a waste of life or talent. It's something that you yourself
wanted more than anything, and that's what you're doing.
Other people except or demand things out of you, but they're just worried about you, that's all.
They don't want to see you become unhappy. They don't think you're doing what you wanted to do.
You are loved. In some way, shape or form.
You may be loved by someone you've never met. But their love is there regardless.
Well, I've said what I wanted.
That's all" -Once again, unknown to me

"Millions long for immortality who don't know what to do on a rainy afternoon" -Suzan Ertz

"You've fallen into an old trap. You thought by having a physical relationship that you would tap into a spiritual one, right?" -Also unknown to me

"Always do men think that they will start living "tomorrow" or that -"when conditions change for the better"- all will be well, and "then they can start living."
Always it is tomorrow, next week, or next year; centuries have passed ad still mankind is waits until some 'future time,' to start living" -Unknown to me

"Remember that guy that gave up? Neither does anybody else" -Unknown to me

"Worship worthless things, create a worthless world" -Unknown to me

I also have about 4 very, very, good stories if anyone is interested.

"Every day, the future looks a bit darker. But, the past, even the grimy bits, well it just keeps getting brighter all the time." _ Sally Jupiter, Watchmen.

I can't forget that quote, it refuses to go out of my head, and it always comes by when i'm sailing thru the web at 4:00 AM.

When I was ten I read fairytales in secret, and would have been ashamed to be caught doing so. Now I am fifty I read fairytales in the open. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of being thought childish.
I don't know where that is from, but it reminds me of teh xkcd where the guy/girl fills their house with ball-pit balls (like from playsets at mcdonalds and what-not). I so want to do that, more than I should (also, the graphical representation of his desire to go up the down escalator in relation to waht his desire should be. I can relate to that one too).

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

John McCrae, 1919

Hmm, I seem to remember posting this on another thread not too long ago, but oh well...

A bit long...
Andrew Ryan: [to Jack, as he enters Ryan's sanctuary] The assassin has overcome my final line of defense, and now he plans to murder me. In the end what separates a man from a slave? Money? Power? No, a man chooses, and a slave obeys!
[pause]
Andrew Ryan: You think you have memories. A farm. A family. An airplane. A crash. And then this place. Was there really a family? Did that airplane crash, or, was it hijacked? Forced down, forced down by something less than a man, something bred to sleepwalk through life unless activated by a simple phrase, spoken by their kindly master. Come in.
[Jack enters Ryan's layer]
Andrew Ryan: Stop, would you kindly?
[Jack does]
Andrew Ryan: Would you kindly, powerful phrase. Familiar phrase?
[Cascade of memories of Atlas ordering Jack to perform various tasks with the phrase "Would you kindly"]
Andrew Ryan: Sit, would you kindly? Stand, would you kindly? Run! Stop! Turn. Was a man sent to kill, or a slave?
[Ryan hands Jack a golf club]
Andrew Ryan: KILL!
[Jack smacks Ryan with the club]
Andrew Ryan: A man chooses!
[Jack smacks him again]
Andrew Ryan: A slave obeys!
[Jack smacks him again]
Andrew Ryan: OBEEEEEEY!
[Jack kills Ryan]
