"When faced with who we truely are, we have three main options. We can try to change it. We can accept it. Or, we can run from it, and deny who we are? Arn't you tired of running?"

I forget if I heard this quote somewhere, but I found it in an old notebook of mine a few years ago. I've never forgotten it.

"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, signifies in the final sense a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed."

You didn't specify good chills or scary chills....so good chills it is!

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us, it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

"Your species exists because we allow it. And it will end, because we demand it". - Sovereign, Mass Effect.

In fact, that whole conversation with him sent chills down my spine.
DAMMIT!

You exist because we allow it, and you will end, because we demand it. I am a vanguard of your destruction, this conversation, is over.

Something about the way he pauses just chills me, even when I'm playing it for the tenth time. The first time was just terrifying, especially when he revealed about the cycle having gone on for thousands of years.

Others:

Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
What passing bells for those who die as cattle/Only the thunderous roar of the guns.
I mourn the death of thousands, but I will not celebrate the death of one man, even an enemy.

And my big quote about fairytales and liking 'childish' things like gaming and comics.

When I was ten I read fairytales in secret, and would have been ashamed to be caught doing so. Now I am fifty I read fairytales in the open. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of being thought childish.

Now, cookies to people who can guess the references. Especially the last two.

"Wanna see a magic trick?"

And, while not scary or super creepy, but unsettling nonetheless. "Taste the flesh of fallen angels."

I have a few.

"Sons of Gondor! Of Rohan! My brothers! I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me! A day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship. But it is not this day. An hour of wolves and shattered shields when the age of Men comes crashing down! But it is not this day! This day we fight! By all that you hold dear on this good Earth, I bid you stand! Men of the West!"

"The first night's the toughest, no doubt about it. They march you in naked as the day you were born, skin burning and half blind from that delousing shit they throw on you, and when they put you in that cell... and those bars slam home... that's when you know it's for real. A whole life blown away in the blink of an eye. Nothing left but all the time in the world to think about it."

They're movie ones... Related to gaming... I suppose when Icarus says "I now have complete control of your systems." in Deus Ex and then there's nothing else for like thirty minutes until you come across the terminal that just repeats "ICARUS HAS FOUND YOU!" and "RUN WHILE YOU CAN!"

That was shit scary.

who wouldn't get it? it's the frakkin' title. I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream, by Harlan Ellison.

sadly, it's not even his best, just his best known. not that it's obscure, by any means, but i prefer the end quote from Vic and Blood. creepy and hilarious at the same time, although definitely less poignant than what you quoted.
