My dad is kinda like Archie Bunker; he makes clear distinctions between people of different races, but he never thinks less of them.
Grr, this statement made me angry. Especially since you know, i live in Estonia. And the god-damn swastika is illegal here, and the soviet communism symbol, too. At least i think so....some say it's a little bit overkill, but both the Germans and Russians trampled over our country and did a lot of damage. If someone would actually come out with some neo-nazi or communist signs or movements, then i don't care about freedom of speech or whatnot. This will make me and a lot of others very, very angry.lostzombies.com said:What Europe is this?
Poland/slovakia/romania/russia/estonia where they have hugh neo-nazi movements?
I don't know about your Europe, but the one I live in has a strictly civilised/medieval split down the middle
Thank you for being so polite about it.Azulito said:Oh, I read from a few sources, I think they mostly just blew it out of proportion. Thanks for the information.SenseOfTumour said:-Snip-

Just had to.Willie the Groundskeeper said:Brothers and sisters are natural born enemies! Like Englishmen and Scots! Or Welshmen and Scots! Or Japanese and Scots! Or Scots and other Scots!
Well I'm German, we also hate everyone, but we do it equally. So if racist is discriminating against one culture than we actually may not be, we discriminate equally thus treating everyone the same.AjimboB said:I'm Russian, everyone in my family is racist, including me. Your "explanation" is just further racism.AjimboB said:Well, half of them are gypsies.Verp said:My parents are pretty damn stealthy about their racism, but sometimes it bubbles to the surface and it's ugly. Cripes.
You forgot to mention extremist muslims want to kill all non-extremist muslims as well.SenseOfTumour said:I did have a quick look into this.Azulito said:My dad makes racist jokes but they're never founded on actual hate.
As for me, I'm not racist either, but it deeply irritates me when other religions feel they take ownership of the country in a way. I have nothing against them living in England, but if they do I presonally feel they should be respectful of others.
I mean, one thing that REALLY annoyed me concerning this was... well..
[image height=50% width=50%]http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2008/07/01/article-1030798-01CF01ED00000578-898_468x338.jpg[/IMG]
Muslims were engraged that the police used that image for the advertisement and the police removed it and apologized. I honestly think the police should of kept it and the Muslims who didn't like it respecfully kept to themselves.
turns out it was the Daily Mail who reported 'MUSLIM OUTRAGE', when in fact one muslim councillor got in contact with the police, saying that "My concern was that it?s not welcomed by all communities, with the dog on the cards. It was probably a waste of resources going to these communities."
One person, trying to advise the police on how to save some printing and distribution costs, hardly constitutes racial rioting.
In the end, no stores refused the poster, it seems.
It's the usual tale of the papers taking one dusky guy with a beard's mild comment to mean 'Hordes of muslims call for fatwa on YOUR puppies!' (Another tactic often used in headlines 'Muslims' and 'your' things, drilling home the us and them feelings.)
Of course extremist Muslims are bad and a national threat, the ones who want all non muslims wiped off the planet, however most moderate muslims just want to be left alone to enjoy their beards. Of course you'll never see that distinction in a Mail story.
