MW2 (and MW1) multiplayer: MEMORIZE YOUR MAPS
I cant stress that enough, if you have memorized every popular ambush area, every popular window, you have a strong advantage, almost as good as a wallhack.

In Modern Warfare, during the ferris wheel segment (you know what I'm talking about), just hide in the bumper car booth, shoot anyone who gets close, and throw back any grenades that get in.
Alternatively hide behind where the enemies spawn until the heli gets there as only some will attack you. Dogs rarely do if any and your ally(can't think of his name) never dies. Then when it gets there sprint to him grab him and run to the heli.

Bioware RPGs: Get a companion respec mod.

The Witcher: Read the books. Especially if you're in Central/Eastern Europe and have a translation to your own language. English publisher is lackluster.

Modern Warfare 2: Play the Campaign and Spec Ops, you will become more of a man.

Wheelman: Don't buy, rent. Also, the checkpoints are a lie. Save manually.

dead space - the flamethrower's seconadry fire is the only part of it that isn't useless, and even then, that's quiestionable.

World of Warcraft: Don't stand in the fire

Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask: Walk backward, it's faster.

OoT: Use the power crouch stab (When you crouch and stab, it has the power of your last attack. So if you jump attack with a Deku Stick, then un-Z-target, crouch and stab, every quick stab has the power of a jump attack with a Deku Stick - great boss killer).

I could give hundreds of little Zelda tips, but I won't bore everyone.

Left4Dead: Stuck reloading the auto shotgun? Start meleeing. You can beat away zombies as you reload - great for hordes.

Bioshock: The electric gel will kill a Big Daddy without you taking any damage - keep well stocked.

Oblivion: When you can't find the path leading up the mountain, walk against the face while shifting your thumbstick left and right until you make a breakthrough. You'll get 4-5 steps(10 max) before you have to shift the stick again.

Portal: Don't get too attached to the Companion Cube. Treat your relationship as purely professional, and it won't hurt as much when...it happens.

Mass Effect 2: dont try to be neutral, yes it adds realism when you take multiple choices but it can seriously fuck up your game ( REALLY miranda, you wont talk to me unless im full paragorn, I SAVED YOUR GODDAMN SISTER)

Demon Souls: dont go pure class and invest points in endurance, oh and no big defensive warding spell and you might as well hit yourself with a hammer to save time.

World of Warcraft: your not nearly as strong willed as you think so dont start it.

Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Red/Soul Silver and every color on the rainbow: Dont let your cousins touch your games, ever. Murder becomes a really attractive idea when 250 hours of gameplay and every conceivable legendary is lost so they can name the main characters for different genitalia.

Oblivion: ALWAYS TAKE RESTORATION MAGIC AS A MAJOR SKILL

It levels slow, and the higher your skill, the cheaper the spells cost and the better spells you get, which means more healing.
Every class benefits from Restoration.
I always mage a custom class I call spellscout. Basically my major skills are Marksman; restoration; conjuration; destruction; mysticism; alteration and illusion. It is a pretty sweet setup but terrible close quarters.

Fire Emblem.

For the love of god, don't use Jagen, Titania (first half of PoR), Marcus, Sothe (First half RD... hell, EVER), or most other characters you get pre-promoted, especially in the first few chapters.

They will eat your experience, turn out to be terrible units, and make the second half of the game total and complete hell.
Unless said character's name is Shinon. Because in PoR, he's better than Rolf. Which is just sad.

FE7: FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, USE GUY.
FE8: Yes, I know Joshua's hat is retarded. He's one of the best units in the game, however.
FE9: Ike is awesome. Power level him. Pretty much everyone who's unmounted is useless unless it's Volke, Shinon, or Mia.
FE10: Don't use Micaiah. Ever. She has quite possibly the worst speed growth in the history of the series. Spend that valuable EX on Edward and Nolan. You'll thank me in the end-game.

Touch spells say hi. :) As do summoned Zombies. Zombies are great at melee. High damage and health.

Pokemon

When you get a pokemon, make sure it has moves of many different types. An empoleon with surf, ice beam, grass knot, and agility will kill much more than one with surf, waterfall, aqua jet, and hydro cannon.

Also, don't use two turn moves. Like Hyper Beam and Giga impact. That lost turn will murder you.
