[HEADING=1]TOPIC TITLE IS FACT![/HEADING]
There's a reason the only poster in my room is a Ratchet & Clank poster. Actually, I think it came in the box with the original game...And I think it's double sided. I'd have to take it down to check, though.
Storylines are mostly standalones, with references to others.
Only Tools of Destruction has a "direct" sequel with Crack in Time.
Crack in Time has a very nice plot summary, though.
That said, since the first one lacks the improved strafe controls of the sequels, I feel it is inferior to all of the rest of the games in the series. And Crack in Time even improved wrench throwing, by not forcing you to crouch. Hell, you can't crouch.
But my favorite is Deadlocked, for taking the Arena battles (my favorite part of ANY of the games), and making the entire game around them.
I'm still amazed they've gone this long and can STILL think up such highly original weaponry.
Insomniac actually is my favorite developer of all time, now that I think about it!
Hell, R&C is the reason I gave in and got a PS3 a few weeks ago. Everything else is just icing on the R&C cake.
Also, download Quest For Booty.
It's $15 for about 3 hours, but goddamnit, it's RATCHET AND CLANK. Those are 3 hours of quality! And you get a Pirate Ratchet skin for Crack in Time!
Screw Naughty Dog, Insomniac is the king of Playstation.
