Reach, first impressions?

Compared to the other Halo games, which in my opinion were total pieces of shit clones, this one is actually quite good.

Yes, the story and single player campaign suck as expected, but you can't really get many heartfelt moments out of walking tin cans now can you? That's is not a justifiable reason by the way, Bungie should really stop their narratives as it's just not their thing.

However, the redeeming factor of this game is multiplayer which honestly could have been a stand alone game. There's new weapons and vehicles that are balanced and fit in, the armor upgrades that add a large number of ways to kill and get things done, 15+ game types with addition of the hundreds of custom games coming (Grifball made the original 15 which made gleeful, way to go Rooster Teeth) and 30+ maps with probably more coming with DLC. This only coupled with the addition of the 'real' forge, which is so outstanding that it makes any other map builder look simple and childish.

So, If you don't have any friends to play with or hate to go into matchmaking with 'H3dsh0tma5t3rr.' Then avoid this game as it's total garbage to you but if you love multi-player then this game is so worth it.

No offence dude but I laugh when I see people with numbers and symbols in their gamertag. I am the original Iamsofakingfly on PSN. [small]Or at least I was until Sony realised that "sofaking" part was pronounced 'so fucking' and I had to change it to HeavenlySnipesx...[/small]

So avoid the threads. It's not as if you're under some divine obligation to read them. I bet if Half Life 2 episode 3 came out (which it won't, I know) there would be just as many threads in the last few days before its release.

No, that's not my gamertag, I only used that as an example. Since typically people who have tags like that are some elitist 15 year old kid who really can't play and just screeches a lot. Y'know, those people you wish didn't have mics, thankfully I stopped playing with a headset for a couple reasons.

1. Obnoxious people online and the stupid things they say.
2. You look like a fucking loser, my gf has hot friends that come over often and I felt so embarrassed wearing that goofy headset I just decided to never use it again.
3. There's really no need for it.

You see. Episode 3 was promised to us. Halo Reach was announced out of no where. So people are just going on about how a game with no really hype except for what it's fan base is producing. Episode 3 has been delayed forever and as such will be judged differently.

I'm not really interested in the Halo franchise. however, I once played halo: combat evolved with my friend on the Xbox, it was quite fun. But that's about it with my experience with Halo.

But still, i go to GameTrailers.com very often just so i can see all the new stuff. And I've been keeping my eye on Reach, it looks like a decent game. I've got nothing bad to say, so what I'm trying to say is:
I'll keep an eye on reach, however, i doubt i will get it, unless i see some ridiculously amazing descriptions here at The Escapist. And by ridiculously amazing i mean Yahtzee's-review-of-Duke-Nukem-Forever-level-of-ridiculously-amazing.
Also, I'm sensing there's some flames going up in this thread. Hope the Mods will take a peek at this thread and see that all's fair.

I just hate any game with a fan base that could popular a medium sized country.

Surely you don't mean you hate any game that enriches a lot of people's lives? I'd say the opposite would be better, loving any game that's got such a large fanbase. It must have made a lot of people happy.

If you don't want to read anything about Halo, don't. It's entirely your choice. Go to another thread. Trust me, there are plenty of them.
OT: So far, it's nothing TERRIBLY out of the ordinary, but that's what I've come to expect from Halo. So I'm not disappointed, and it's still mindless fun, but it's nothing really groundbreaking.
