Really Dumb Laws

So Escapist, do you have any really dumb laws where you live?

I have one not to far from my house, where if you pronounce the name of the city wrong you can be fined and/or thrown in jail. I mention this because someone was arrested for this the other day.

We also have a law in Chicago that ugly people can't come outside.

There's plenty of dumb laws here in Ohio..but they're not very widely enforced because of just how stupid and nonsensical they are

I'm not sure if it's still a law or not but 6 years ago when I was studying law in college my lecturer told us that it's legal to shoot a welshman with a crossbow providing he is standing within the boundaries of a particular castle, I think it's in Cornwall but I may be mistaken.

Ohio kicked one in this year that says if you don't turn on your headlights when your windshield wipers are going, you can get fined. Their purpose was that if you need to run your wipers, visibility must be poor and you need to inform other drivers that you think you can't see. So if you drive under a flock of birds suffering from the hot poops, turn on your headlights. Quite stupid.

I saw that on QI so I asked a policeman when I was out one night, he wasn't impressed.

All of Britain:

Water Tanks are required by law to be on the upper most levels of the house.

Why? Because if Napoleon rides up the Thames and lights houses on fire, the water needs to run down so London's Burning doesn't happen again. (I am not joking)

Also, in Liverpool, it is legal for a saleswoman in an exotic fish store to work topless.
