So gravity fucked it up.

It's quite obviously not a spaceship, although I've no idea what it is.
Don't be such a downer. It's obviously a giant alien fleet bent on wiping out all humanity.
OT: I wish it was something more, but common sense says no, it's just a meteor.
Besides, I don't even believe in faster than light travel.

Quick! Someone call up Soap MacTavish to fix it!

Wait, what year is it? 2010? Fuck! He hasn't joined the crew of awesome or prove his bad-assery to the world yet! We're boned!

Yeah, but what does FTL travel have to do with anything?

I'm saying that aliens probably can't go faster than light either because it's impossible.

I think it was reported as two asteroids colliding. But maybe the governments are just trying to cover up the alien invasion fleet.

How do you expect to reach other solar systems or other galaxies without traveling faster than light or at least AT the speed of light? I should remind you that the closest star to our own Sun is Proxima Centauri and it's about 4.22 light years away.

Because anything slower than light would take hundreds of years to come from even the closest star system.

We as gamers have been preparing for this day all of our lives. Time for us to step up and save humanity!

Mass effect 2 came out just in time to make sure we were all prepared for this.

Actually, there are a few theories that might possibly work. Most notably, a warp drive. Basically (and please don't ask me to explain in detail, this stuff is bonkers)it creates a small area of space where the speed of light is faster than the one in the normal universe, so inside of the warp, you're still going slower than light, but to the rest of the universe, it's faster.

For more, look here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alcubierre_drive

You misunderstood me, I know all that, and don't think it's possible myself. I meant when did anyone mention FTL travel? I thought oppp7 was joking about aliens, and about invasions and stuff, and that we were talking about a comet...

Those aren't the Reaper's, silly. Those are the Tau. Submit, for the Greater Good!

Stasis/cryogenesis and auto-pilot. Sure, it has yet to be perfected, but we'll get there, I'm sure.

Am I the only one who thinks that looks like someone's just sat down and sketched it?

'Tis clearly fake.

If not, we're gonna need a hero. Gonna need a hero 'till the end of the ni-ight. He's gotta be strong, he's gotta be fast, he's gotta be larger than life.

So it rains funny in space? Big whoop? Yay? Run for the hills? Please don't kill me nice huggable but utterly evil space alien?

Yeah. Until it gets closer or we actually start going to Mars and beyond and building space stations, I'm not bothered. Chances are, it isn't the Hierarchy here to strip mine our planet, and chances are, there's nothing we can actually do about it if it is.

really, looks like a B-Wing to me personaly. :p

If these are aliens, then my plan has worked and they heard my calls...uhhhhhhh, I mean, WE'RE FUCKED!

EDIT: Also, just thought of this. Depending on how far away that eleged space ship is, that one image could have happend years ago, because it takes time for light to travel, so for all we know, this space ship could be due for arival soon.

December 21, 2012 to be exact.
