Bread: Sourdough, or possibly a pannini-styled loaf, drizzled with balsamic vinegar (preferable the thicker syrupy kind), then grilled with some mozzerlla until the bread is crisp and the cheese melted. Then a few slices of prosciutto (pronounced bre jeuw toe), which is an Italian cured ham (sorta like Italian bacon) in the middle of the bread with some mixed greens.

For a visual representation:

Just make sure not to cook the prosciutto, it's better raw. Should be behind the average deli counter.

Just bacon with cheese, simple, delicious.
If you add eggs, you also have a nice breakfast!

OT:I don't know, sometimes when we had it,I would melt mozzarella cheese (Shredded) unto some bread and call it a sandwich.
EDIT:If you can,try making one of these:

Truely KFC's most fattening and delicious creation of all time.
Sorry, this one is even worse, from our good friends at Burger King:

Weighing in at 730 calories, it beats the paltry Double Down which comes in at 540 calories by nearly 200.

Cut a slice of ham into thin strips, grill with onions in a pan with a little butter and a splash of whiskey, while they're grilling sprinkle brown sugar on the mixture. Butter a piece of bread and add a layer of apricot jam or apple butter, then a small layer of brie (if the brie won't spread, just put small pieces all over). Put the hot onion mixture over the bread/brie/jam combo and the cheese will melt a little, add a dash of garlic powder and black pepper and eat. It's insane.

Peanut butter, banana, and bacon sandwiches? Elvis liked them. Sounds like some seriously weird sandwich to me, which fits your request perfectly.

Pulled pork with cheese.

Or you could get a onion bun and put some cheese(I prefer provolone and romano) on one end and ham on the other and put it in the broiler(each side separate and use foil for less clean up). If you do it right you get a crispy, melty goodness in the from of a sandwich. You have to watch it like a hawk so it doesn't burn though.

"Sourcream and Onion" chips under a thin piece of white bread with butter and cheese on top.

Runner up: Any bread, thick piece of ham, mustard, cheese.

Muffulettas. For there is one sandwich to rule them all.

Lethal amounts of olive salad, cheese and meats never go wrong.

I see your regular, bread-lined sandvich and raise you a Buffalo Steak Sandvich (Now comes with it's own plate)!

Is there a Lee's Sandwiches near your place of residence? if so, then try their #1 type sandwich. Betcha you've never had Vietnamese-French sandwiches, huh?

One: Peanut butter and Bacon. Sounds weird as hell, but it's good.

Two: Heat a griddle. Take two slices of sandwich bread, place a slice of provolone cheese on each and a healthy amount of hard salami. Butter the outsides of the bread, toast the sandwich on the skillet, add a little garlic or oregano to taste.

Three: Two fried eggs on toast with cheddar cheese, and, if you want to really make it work, sauteed potatoes, onions, and some bacon or sausage.

Sandwich:
- take mayo, BBQ sauce and cream cheese, mix well, this is now your butter.
- roasted chicken breast + crispy bacon
- tomato, lettuce, avocado, grilled onions
- assemble on to selected bread, i like to use white tiger rolls.

Not so much a sandwhich, but try a home-made burger with kangaroo meat. Absolutely delicious. Or crocodile if you want something a bit like chicken.
