So what anime/manga has everyone been reading lately? I've had a bit of time lately so I've started reading Monster Musume and its actually really fun, if shameless. Its an ecchi comedy about what would happen if all those monster girls/guys we she in games/anime were real and existed in our modern world - but not as our enemies.

Also, boobs.

Well, it's coming close to December, which means I'll be reading through the entirety of Berserk again.

It's kind of a holiday tradition for me.

Leemaster777 recommended me Monster Musume, so I bought the first book and really liked it.

I've also become a huge fan of the manga The Flowers of Evil. Don't know what the anime's like, but the manga is astounding.

And this week I'm reading Lament of the Lamb start to finish. Best vampire manga I've ever read, and a lot of it is because the vampirism includes absolutely no differences from regular humans apart from the need to drink blood. No mirror weirdness, fangs, sunlight sensitivity or flying. Okay, so they do get pale when they don't have blood, but that's it.

Just the sort of thing to get people into the holiday spirit. XD

I've been watching Kyousonogiga. I love it, best anime to come out this season, but it seems to be really under the radar for most people. I'm hoping for it to become a sleeper hit because so far it has the makings of a classic show.

Its hard to believe that the show sarted its life as a short animation project several years ago.

That is my favorite manga series I have read to this date. The humor, the ungodly high amount of ecchi, and the entire setting is just makes it amazing.

Let's see I'm currently watching:
Freezing: Vibrations (eh)
Infinite Stratos 2 (eh)
Golden Time (amazing)
Outbreak Company (good)
Noucome (best airing)
Yusibu (good)

I'm really a big fan of this airing season.

Well, This season I'm watching Kill la Kill, which is awesome, Kyoukai no Kanata, which could've been way better, and the second season of Monogatari, which is amazing and much better than Nisemonogatari. I may check out Kyousonogiga. Also, during this time and maybe early next year I usually finished any anime from this year that I haven't finished or have yet to see. SO right now I'm in the middle of watching Gatchaman Crowd, which is intriguing to say the least, finishing up the second season of Chihayafuru, which is fantastic, and for some odd reason I'm watching Amnesia, which sucks.

Other than that, I watched Girls und Panzer for the first time recently, and it was surprisingly good, and I got my copy of The Wolf Children this week, which is a fantastic movie. Also, next month, I'm gonna go see the third Madoka Magica movie once it comes to my area.

Manga-wise, I'm not reading anything currently. I'm not much of a manga guy. When I do read manga, however, it's usually obscure horror titles.

I've never read the manga but I did love the anime. Most everyone else, including fans of the manga, HATE the anime, though, because it's rotoscoped.

Kill la Kill, which is a delightful bundle of total ridiculousness wrapped in partial nudity and explosions.

Coppelion, which is enjoyable and just looks really, really nice.

Monogatari, As amusing and entertaining as always even if it's lacking in sufficient in Senjougahara and Kanbaru.

Unbreakable Machine-Doll, nice fights and stuff but the characters seem a bit bland.

Gundam Build Fighters, a pleasant surprise. I'm enjoying it much more than I thought I would (especially after Gundam AGE. Ugh.).

Hajime no Ippo - Rising, It's Hajime no Ippo. Of course it's going to be awesome.

Been watching Noucome and it is really fun and cute

The main guy has a curse that forces him to choose between crappy choices like sniffing or eating a porn mag

It has lots of awareness of cliches and sorta parodies harem comedies

Only new ones I've been watching lately are Kill la Kill and Tokyo Ravens.

Tried getting into Freezing but despite liking the manga I just can't get into the anime.

Ongoing series:

Anime - Monogatari - Interesting series, with a very interesting idea, but I am getting tired of the recap episodes.
Anime - Kill la Kill - Absurd and over the top in very way, but very funny.
Anime - Arpeggio of Blue Steel - 'Alien' Warships with female 'mental models' waging war on humanity for an unknown reason. Kind of average so far, but it does have it's moments.
Manga - Attack on Titan - Much better pacing than the anime, but otherwise practically the same.
Manga - Puella Magi Kazumi Magica - I still have no idea what is going on. It takes place in the same world as Madoka Magica but follows a different group of magical girls.

Ones I am catching up on:

Anime - Oreimo season 1 - I have only a few episodes, it seems kind of funny, especially the argument between Kirino and the other Otaku girl at the cafe.

I am kind of ticking over until Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Rebellion and Ghost in the Shell: Ghost Whispers are out. Although I also plan to watch Shin Sekai Yori at some point.

ANIME:
Kyousogiga - Just an excellent anime. Best of the season. A poetic, effortlessly touching masterpiece.
Monogatari - Reliably excellent series, just like Nisemonogatari. I could listen to Shinobu talk forever.
Arpeggio of Blue Steel - Decent CG-anime about a war between humanity and a force called "The Fog".
Kill La Kill - I let a few episodes pass each month, then catch up on it. It's excellent, might well be a classic in the making, and yet I can't seem to get hyped.
Wanna be the Strongest - Ecchi ryona anime about pro-wrestling. Pretty merciless. As a fan of ryona I'm liking it.
Golden Time - I eventually dropped this, but I respect that it's a best-of-season anime for the right audience.
Samurai Flamenco - Dropped by episode 4 due to boredom.

MANGA:
Girls of the Wilds - A korean manga that follows the first male student of previously all-female Wilds High school, which specializes in fighting. Great plots. Great characters. Inevitable harem aspect is just a side-gag and doesn't intrude too much.
Reimei no Arcana - A manga that follows the princess of a kingdom defeated in a war with its neighbor. I can't say it's the sort of thing I'd usually follow, and yet I can't stop...
Tower of God - Who isn't following this at the moment?
Flag Time - One of two promising yuri/shoujo-ai manga I've just picked up. Only a few chapters are out.
Honto no Kanojo - The other.

I've been really enjoying the new Negima manga sequel UQ Holder so far. 12 chapters in and it's been a lot of fun so far.

I got to see Ghost in the Shell: Arise a couple of months ago and really enjoyed it, looking forward to the next parts.

Otherwise I've basically just been keeping up with One Piece, Bleach, Naruto, Fairy Tail and Detective Conan, although I did recently read through all of Beelzebub and have really enjoyed it, so I'm keeping up with it now too. A good replacement for my dearly concluded Katekyo Hitman Reborn.

I've also been getting the manga volumes of Oreimo, Kanokon and I Don't Like You At All Big Brother! as they come out. Thinking I need to pick up Monster Musume though (which I had been thinking of doing) based on the mentions in this thread. Methinks I'll be heading to my comic shop come lunch time.

Watching a few new animes recently and the one that's stuck out has been Log Horizon. Yeah, it has a familiar "trapped in a MMO" premise, but its characters and plot are different enough to distinguish it from .Hack or SOA. And its the only one of those I've seen that actually seems to to take place in a legitimate MMO, with terms like tanks, raids, and guilds being thrown out and having meaning.

I just finished Attack on Titan, (also known as Attack of the Giant Naked People.) I somehow missed all the hype surrounding it and it's fucking awesome. It definitely lives up to the hype. It reminds me of George RR Martin writing in that it does not give a fuck about killing off random characters.

It has a great first episode, it only gets better and the opening is the best thing ever

The amount of quality behind the 3D Maneuver Gear animations is brilliant.

For anime I'm only following Kill la Kill this season. I tried picking up Noucome, but I couldn't get into it.

Manga:

Soul Cartel- Faust Goethe vs. The Devil. Really drags at parts, but the latest arc was the best one yet, so I'm hopeful.

Bartender - About a bartender who makes drinks that solve problems. You can basically start anywhere, since each arc is pretty self contained. Super chill read.

Feng Shen Ji- Starting to get very Dragon Ball Z. I am fine with this.

Prison School - Oh man,It's uh, not for everyone. It seems like it's going to be really ecchi sleazy, but it's more about the camaraderie of these guys. The story is real good and the humor is Gintama-ish. I really hope it ends soon though.

Geukji High - So dumb. In this universe the amount of moisture a person has the more fighting potential they got. Holds the record for most depressing power-up. The author knows what makes me laugh though.

Kono Oto Tomare! - Like a Chihayafuru, but not as good.

Beelzebub - I'm loving the lawless wasteland that is "America".

I've been watching End of Evangelion, as the grand finale to my first ever viewing of NGE. In completely unrelated news, me and my sanity are not on speaking terms anymore.

Only Tower of God for manga and Blue Exorcist and Hajime no Ippo:Rising for anime. All non-ecchi stories with absorbing stories, well-expressed characters and good-to-excellent quality production. Just good clean entertainment :)

Have you read any of Emily Carroll's stuff? She isn't manga, but she's got a penchant for creepy stuff. "The Prince and the Sea" and "Out of Skin" especially. She does short story-like comics.
