This might need some context to back it up: See, I graduated from university last year and finally became a real, working job-type adult with responsibilities yo. Seeing as how I graduated with a degree in Education in a country sorely lacking in teachers, it didn't take long for me to find a job. The other thing you need to know is that the country I live and work in is dominantly Roman-Catholic, extremely conservative and poorly educated for the most part, especially on matters that the Catholic church deems "inappropriate".
On the topic of being poorly educated, let me put that into context: while the vast, VAST majority of people in the country are Roman Catholic, the other majority are Muslim (demographics wise, if you put all the Muslims together, they'd outnumber all the other beliefs/religions, so they're not a small number). Most people have long-since had the "all Muslims are terrorists" thought since before 9/11, and most people are unaware that it's a religion, and not say, a race or nationality. Most people in this country cannot locate the USA, or Canada or even Europe (yes, the entire continent) on a map (I know this because I tried.)
It was the last week of school (the school year here runs from June to late March/early April), and my classes were all done with their coursework for the year, so I gave them all the classes I had for that day a free period and just supervised.
So I was in my homeroom class, and I was walking around the desks and I get stopped by a group of girls who wanted to ask about something personal. Specifically, about male masturbatuion habits. I (very quickly) regained my composure and asked why they're bringing up male masturbation, to which they said that they were just curious, and figured it'd be better to ask from a teacher than from a teenaged male student. So I figure, "Why not? I mean, better they learn this from a concerned adult who has education in the matter, and not a priest or television or by experimenting with a male student." (see, Catholic schools tend to have "morality clauses" where you get expelled if you end up being or getting someone pregnant) It's a very difficult conversation to have (particularly when the age difference is less than 10 years) and I kept having to clarify that I'm being clinical about it and I seriously have no ulterior motives or hidden intentions.
