I realised that I'd been trying to be a nice guy around these forums, but somewhere had given up in that endeavour and had just started to argue over trivial bullshit just to have conversations with people. I apologise to those I've argued with, and invite anyone to just chat because, hey, who isn't looking for a bit of conversation on here?

Not so much discovered recently but I realised some fictional characters are far more important to me than most people in real life...
Hah! That's so fu---
...Oh. I guess this is the awkward moment for me where I discovered the same applies to me as well.

Its probably not as important as I made it out to be in my head, but about a week ago I had one of those "What I should do with my life" kind of realizations. I won't bother elaborating because I wouldn't know where to begin, but its rather comforting and even honest. I've only just turned 21 so this is good thing.

I wish I had something more quirky to contribute. I'd post a picture of a kitten or something if I weren't so lazy.

I frequently think about (and subsequently try to not think about as soon as possible) the fact that I am in many ways a massive hypocrite.

Example: I love the royal family, yet am fully aware that they do nothing extraordinary for the country, surely take up more taxpayers money than they make up for from the money from tourism, and that they represent the idea of aristocratic privilege which I so despise so much.

If you mean the British Royal Family, allow me to say you are correct for liking them.
Though their full power as a tourist attraction is easy to measure, it is clear that they rake in far more money than they spend. They also represent a large amount of owned land, which contributes millions in tax money each year, and cost us very little in comparison. It's also not like we pay them a salary directly out of the tax money!
Also they're very, very entertaining.

About a year or so back my oldest and best friend and I realized that our friendship is entirely based off our mutual hatred of each other. Not that it's a bad thing, just something we noticed.

realisations:
I am attracted to younger men and do better in relationships with them, women doesn't matter if older, younger, same age i do just as well with them regardless.
I am almost 10 years older than the guy I'm currently kind of not really with
I will probably not find a job anytime soon just based on a few contributing factors:
-I live in the 9th worst county in the US to find a job
-According to the labour department, people who have been unemployed fewer than five weeks face a re-employment rate of 31%. If you are unemployed for more than a year, there?s just a 9% chance you?ll find work.(http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2012/05/04/long-term-unemployment-remains-virtually-unchanged-in-economic-recovery/)
-I've been unemployed for over a year now and even though everyone is "hiring" out here, I rarely get interviews. No matter how nice and professional I make myself look and how confident I appear when turning in my applications.
Unemployment out here sucks balls and it is a pain in the arse to reach them(I've been trying for 3 months straight now to re-file so I can continue to have gas money to go apply to jobs and pay my phone bill cause I seriously only need $100 a month right now since my family isn't making me pay rent)
Welfare does NOT work how it should out here if you are a)not a "minority" b)don't have kids(and yes I was told that because I didn't have children I did not qualify to be on welfare so I could have money to pay my one bill a month I have -_-)

Not judging you or anything, but the way you talk, you seem like you just enjoy conflict; and you don't want to be associated with any group or label.

That I'm perfectly happy to hand in what is to me medicore work. The last 4 uni assignments I have handed in have all been done the day/night before they were due. Now it wouldn't be a problem if I got shit marks, but I keep getting anywhere from 60-80% for these, beating people i know who did drafts and edited and spent a couple of days writing them. I say that I feel bad for them that don't do as well for there effort, but it really just reenforces in my mind that effort is over-rated.

well I've been spending some time thinking about the future and where I need to go from here, and I have come to quite a few unpleasant realizations in doing so. Mostly revolving around the fact that their seems to be no place in the world for me, so I will need to change myself to fit in.

I don't want to do that.

I realized that I care a lot about trying to make the world a better place to live in yet despite all my ideas and efforts people who it effects even slightly in a negative way to the point all they would have to do is make a slight effort would easily shut out the idea because nobody thinks about other people.

I also realized that most people look down on me because I am not always the fastest to be able to verbalize my thoughts since I am visually oriented. I tend to view things in my head and when I try to explain my ideas to them people are so quick to want to make me wrong so that they can be right that they don't let me explain myself and assume I am just stupid.

This literally had me up for a entire night. I realized most people care more about being right than being better. The average person cares so much about being right they will remain ignorant of there own weaknesses and never attempt to make themselves a better person.

All these things scare me...

Well I just found out that Sam Worthington and Ryan Reynolds are not the same person. Turns out I actually quite like Reynolds and it's Worthington I can't stand, sorry Ryan!
Erm, let's see what else...
I realised that my face isn't perfectly symmetrical and that the left side of my jaw sticks out more than my right side. I think it may have something to do with how I sleep though as I tend to sleep on my side.
I'm 17 and haven't shaved once. Part of me wants to grow a beard to see how I look, the other part is glad I don't have to shave yet, especially since I'm planning on joining the Army and can't grow a beard anyway.
I've been living in a different country since early January and managed to achieve more in the few months I've been here than I have in the past 5 years in my old country.

I mean you would think that, but I'm really not that confrontational.

I think it's just the group of people I grew up being friends with. Never was friends with any "counter-culture" people, so when I found out I actually enjoy some of that stuff, it would be weird for me to ever fully assimilate into any of those cultures.

Just going to correct you here. While the royal family is paid a grant of 40 million pounds annually, the government actually earns money from them, as a deal made by George III means that revenue from Crown Lands is paid to the government, and this comes to about 200 million pounds annually. Furthermore, they bring in a LOT more in tourist money.

Here's a video, if you're more interested:

Whenever I see CGI and an actor on screen interacting I can't help but think how awkward it must be to be the actor since they're trying to emote to a tennis ball on a stick.
