I currently cannot afford any new books. I spent all my money on Mass Effect...which still hasn't gotten here....but tomorrow!...just...gotta get through another night... *sigh*

Anyways, the reason why I popped up here though is to mention that there's a new Artemis Fowl book coming out in july for anyone who's interested. Artemis Fowl: The Last Guardian. That I may get...possibly...if I can scrap together a few bucks for it.

Oh you KNOW I would have followed you to the ends of the universe to kick your butt if you had spoiled that game for me. It's been torture wandering around the escapist seeing all this ME3 stuff and not being able to read or watch any of it. Plus people are worrying me with all the "me3 ending is crap." But I should get it tomorrow...and if I don't I think I may have to go and steal it from the post office. (joking, joking, this is not an admission of guilt.... at all)

The only time I ever buy a book is when I can't find it at the library. And that is usually a rare occurrence, as the "library" in my area is actually a network of 13 libraries from all around the county, and it has a handy reservation system in which you can find and reserve a book online and have it sent to any library in the network. So I can go to the library web site, reserve a book from a library 45 minutes away, and have it sent to the library a couple of blocks from campus completely for free.

But anyway...the last book I had to buy I believe was Fire Study, by Maria V. Snyder. It's the last in a trio, the other two books being Poison Study and Magic Study. Great books, highly recommended.

Oh! I am SO sorry. I didn't mean to give you bad vibes. I figured you had seen it since it's all over the forums here. Though I take it all with a grain of salt. There are lots of people out there that will say anything just because they don't want to see ME3 succeed.

well Id be mad to go into the gaming discussion right now..I even stayed away from the escapist completley for a couple of days, now its jsut off-topic for me..I dont even look at the main page

thats ok, honest mistake, though now Im going to be expecting it to be bad but hopefully I'll forget it when I get back to playing

its like when I first started playing it felt like I was judging it on the terms of the "hive-mind" that is the escapist, I was already picking out flaws, but once I got over that I am truly impressed thus far..thats all Ill say

dont want to de-rail this (thankfully) non ME3 thread any further

Nothing recently but I will soon be purchasing An Introduction to Object-Oriented Programming by Timothy Budd

I also need a book on VHDL and possibly Verilog. I have a few in mind but I will be doing a bit more research.

These will probably sound uninteresting to most of you, but here it goes.

1. Words in the Mind: an introduction to the mental lexicon by Jean Aitchison

2. A Practical Introduction to Phonetics by J.C. Catford

3. The Search for the Perfect Language by Umberto Eco

4. The Meaning of Tingo by Adam Jacot De Boinod

5. The language Imperative by Suzette something?

and several others none of my friends want to listen to me talk about.

I was actually at barns and nobles today looking for a good science fiction novel or fantasy novel to read, but didn't find anything interesting.

Strawberry Panic(Light novel, not the manga): It's an enjoyable read, liking it much more than I though I would.

Also picked up the first volume of GTO and 2 volumes of Samurai Champloo none of which I have read.

I started reading:

- How to Archer: The Ultimate Guide to Espionage and Style and Women and Also Cocktails Ever Written by Sterling Archer

- Rx - Episode 1: The Blackouts (Rx: A Tale of Electronegativity) by Robert Brockway

Both are good. Archer especially if you like the show.

I bought the Assassins Creed Encyclopedia Ver II even though I already got the first one. Sadly I must wait till AC 3 comes out now.

I walked into a bookstore and bought the entire series of The Wheel of Time at one go, from book 2 to 13.

I think the cashier almost fainted.

I ran out the other day and acquired a copy of The Phoenix Wright Files (vol 1), from the Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney manga series. That's right, there's a manga series! One that doesn't just copy the first three games. It's well worth my money.

I've also been collecting the Monster Hunter Orage manga series.

As for books without images, I haven't bought any for a while and those that I have were from used book stores or sales. I did run out and get "Facial Expressions", which is a book on multiple facial expressions from models ages 18 to 90 something. This really lacked words, though, and was purely to help me in my career. It's a damned useful book, though.

Currently I'm reading books I've owned for over a year now. The next one I'm bound to read is "Mortals and Deities" by Maxwell A. Drake. Sequel to his first book, Farmers and Mercenaries. I recently read the second-to-last Temeraire book by Naomi Novik.

And I'm, today, reading a magazine about random reptile and mammal species found in Taiwan. Very interesting. Though I'm a bit perturbed that they're calling the Chinese Cave gecko a species of leopard gecko, when it's from a completely different species group. Convergent evolution, scientists! Get it right!
