I need a new an anime to start watching as I have just finished my last one.

Stuff I Like...
-Welcome To The N.H.K.
-The Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya
-Dokuro Chan
-Death Note

Anything at all would be awesome.

Shoot!
Yay :D I just finished watching Welcome to the NHK. It was awesome. Misaki got a little annoying after the suicide thingy though ._.

I also have no recommendations - I'm actually here for the same reason you are.

EDIT: Check out Prince Of Tennis! :D It's really good - I loved it.
Haha I finished Welcome to the N.H.K. Yesterday so yes, We certainly are. XD (It was awesome)

Elfen Lied is a masterpiece :]

It isnt gore porno, it just have some gore and nudity because it is needed.
It's funny because you're wrong.
It's funny because he's right.
Then explain to me, in what way is the constant gore and nudity 'needed'?

It's a very weak "Love Hina meets Splatterpunk" trainwreck of an anime. The only reason it's noticable at all is because it's goreporn. If it's not distracting the viewer from the horrible story by having naked little girls run around, it's distracting the viewer by violently dismembering said little girls.

*Googles it and finds out the disappointing truth*
I was so excited that anime like this would exist without taking it shelf seriously, that I actually though I had found something new to watch... Guess I'll just have to watch regular anime...(but it would have been so cool if this show existed in real life!)...
Try Samurai Pizza Cats then. It's a bit old but the English version was pretty much a parody of cartoons at the time. The theme song was pretty funny in itself and the narrator often poked fun at plot holes as they went along. There was even a moment involving a kanji sign falling on a character leading to them saying "what do you expect? This is a Japanese cartoon". Apparently the Japanese version was also pretty similar in its sense of humour, but the dub wasn't a literal adaptation because Saban were never sent the original script.

Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, Trigun, Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Bakemonogatari (best one I can think of), Spice and Wolf, Lucky Star, Neon Genesis Evangelion (if you're ok with mind screws), Toradora!, K-ON!, Minamike, Seitokai no Ichizon, Samurai Champloo, Rozen Maiden, Clannad, Cowboy Bebop and Toaru Kagaku no Railgun .

It's a lot, yes, but they are worth watching.
Edit: the best Rozen Maiden, IMO is Overture.

I'm also going to go out on a limb and say dubbed anime are just fine. I don't understand why people try to act like they are so discerning and high-class by being such subtitle snobs; it's like trying to be the smartest kid in the retarded class.
Well, the problem with dubs is that the english voice-actors often suck big time. That and the dialog if often changed to the point that they say something entirely different from the original japanese. That last one is probably the reason why these guy's are saying this:

Full Metal Alchemist (DUB. If you haven't already) ...don't go near the sub. You will only get bored.
Yeah, is it just me or the English sub version sucks?
But, on topic. Some good recommendations have been made here. Some I haven't seen here yet:

-Black Lagoon
-DOGS: Bullets & Carnage
-History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi
-Noein
-Tokyo Majin Gakuen Kenpuchou
-Detroit Metal City

Check www.anidb.net. It's a major info site about anime.

Scryed - super powered human fun, an some slight social commentary.
Guin Saga - Conan the Barbarian-esque fantasy
Black Lagoon - Excellent gun-play anime
Lucky Star - It's the Seinfeld of anime, give it a try

Yeah, anything 'adapted', (read: 'raped') by 4kids should never be watched. 4kids sucks ass.

The studio Ghibli movies are definitly worth watching. Mononoke-hime is one of my favourite movies of all time, so is Akira (by Katsuhiro Otomo).

Neon Genesis Evangelion is a masterpiece. Very deep, very moving, interesting characters and some brilliant action-sequences.

Why hasn't anyone mentioned Jin-Roh yet?
