It's probably not deep in terms of resource trees, but one of my all-time-favourite RTS games is Supreme Commander.
One of the biggest points i like about it is the scale. The maps are up to 81x81km in size, and while the biggest normal artillery can fire almost all the way across it, some normal tank will take half an eternity for the same way on its own.
The UI is very intuitive with easily editable patrol routes and such; you can even set air transportation routes, so your tanks will be carried to the battlezone automatically on self-defined routes after they leave the factory.
While games like WarCraft focus more and more on micro management, this game is truly about strategy.
[Edit:] There are two resources, energy and mass, which can only be gathered up to a certain point after which every new incoming energy or mass will be wasted. Building aditional storage is possible, but very expensive, so you'll want to spend your resources in a constant flow. Managing that well enough will take some time and experience.
