Last night in my shop (which is a game/dvd shop so you know) we were all talking about how we were getting a little bored with COD purely because it's the only thing that has managed to hold our interest for a long time. After trying out some other titles that were meant to be good I was unimpressed. We were all wondering then if the wider gaming community has any hidden gems/overlooked titles that would be worth our money and keep us interested until Assassin's Creed 2 and the new Modern Warfare come out. A good online multiplayer would be nice and age isn't really important.

Well, Battlefield 1943 just came out, and at 15 bucks for a great multiplayer experience, it's a good deal. Good game for the WWII Genre, and uses same engine as Bad Company, so good graphics and sound, along with destructible environments.

Then of course there's Left 4 Dead. Great game, last you forever, and is really good for teamwork, so if you play it with your buddies, that's good.

Already have it sadly. It is very good... Was thinking of Call of Juarez 2 or maybe Prototype. But then I also heard that Armoured Core For Answer was really good. And we're talking for the 360 here. Forgot to mention that, d'oh.

If you want something a little bit more hardcore than COD4, then I reccomend the following:

- S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow Of Chernobyl (better plot/immersion) OR S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clear sky (Better graphics/gameplay)
- Rainbow Six Vegas 2
- Far cry 2 (not that hardore, but still fun)
- ARMA2 (Very hardcore, may not be fun to people who don't enjoy simulation games)

From what i've heard, left 4 dead can be extremelly fun.

P.S I have played call of juarez 2. It was fun. A bit confusing at times, but fun

While many will disagree, I really love Halo 3 online. And ODST is coming in September which will include the whole Halo 3 multiplayer including the DLC maps.

Whatever you do, avoid Gears of War 2 online. It's practically broken.

BF1943 will be fun for a few weeks.

H3 is a good fallback.

Fallout is good non-multiplayer.

Bioshock, Fallout 3, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Mass Effect, God of War, God of War II.
Sorry to be so generic, but they're all really great games.

Isn't ARMA2 very buggy?
Still, I would either recommend that, it's predecessor or Operation Flashpoint. All very good games, and running around in circles is not a good tactic to not get shot in any of them, particuarly as your aim buggers up when you move.

Hey I actually like the online for Gears2, though i never did play the first one so I may be lacking a reference point, but it still seems fun to me.

Wow... I disagree with about half the people here... But anyway, single player wise, STALKER, Fallout 3, BioShock, and the Half-Life 2 series are amazing...
