So I'm trying to show a female who is ignorant to music before 2000 what music was like during this golden age of music. Suggestions?

The Clash. First three albums landed in the 70s. And London Calling is one of the greatest albums ever.

Edit : Shit, forgot to link a song

If you want a classic rock sounding band then you may want to check out Big Elf, they aren't that old but they capture the sound really well.

You could also show some classic metal stuff like Black Sabbath. I would get some Iron Maiden in there too.

Just maker her listen to the album Panzer Division Marduk. Sure it was made in 1999, but it has a really good feel to it and is a good introduction to the rock genre.

Since it was only mentioned in a Laundry list of musicians I feel the need to also point out that Pink Floyd is a must hear. Try The Wall (personal fav), or Dark Side of the Moon (Everyone else's personal fav)

What does she tend to listen too now? The list of 70's music can be pretty daunting, it'd be easier to narrow it down by taking her current tastes into account.
