I feel like expanding my herzions when it came to music so I made this thread. I choose metal first because I have nothing negative to say about metal as a whole. The problem is metal mostly incites this responce [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ussCHoQttyQ&feature=related].
my next music thread one will likely be foucsing on rap and/or hip hop and is sometime negative to say about that.

I have listen to some metal
the ones I can list that I remember listening to
some of the ones on this thread I found by using the search bar.

I listened to few nightwish song a while ago but i forgot which ones. need less to say i was not impressed enough to listen to there music

I like miracle of sound's Binary divide but it is not on my list of his best songs
MOS's Kalros is a meh
if coming for tank is metal then i kinda like it too but less then Binary divide

I would proffer people post videos of songs over just give me the band names so i don't to look up there songs

I don't care what genre/sub-genre of metal you Recommend i am open to anything you got

edit:
the result of this thread is much of the metal in this playlist

I'm not sure how "metal" you are looking for, like how hard of a song. So I'm going to give you a bit of a range in the following songs.

Die Toten Hosen

Sonata Arctica

Dark Moor

Dragonforce

Avenged Sevenfold

Dude if you're not into it don't force it. Just ease yourself in through some Black Sabbath. They're better than almost anything else posted here and have a lot of different styles mixed in to different songs so you can generally find a couple tracks you like to get you into the rest. From there it's just a short hop to Mercyful Fate and Psychotic Waltz and then eventually you'll be listening to Candlemass, Shining and The Devin Townsend Project like it's nobody's business.

Oh boy. Where to begin. I'll try to start with the more accessible bands towards the top.

Hammerfall. Excellent power metal that is very easy to get into. I have friends that dislike metal that like this band.

Ayreon. Progressive metal/rock that features many vocalists. As with Hammerfall, I know several people that don't like metal that like these guys.

Blind Guardian. Basically the go to band for power metal. Has released a large variety of consistently awesome music.

Testament. A thrash metal band that is similar to Metallica, but has enough differences to justify listening to.

Iced Earth. A power/thrash metal band that has done quite a few awesome songs.

After Forever. The band that has perhaps the best female vocals in all of power metal. Yes, better than Nightwish.

Draconian. A gothic doom metal band that is very emotional.

Machinae Supremacy. A very unique band that writes a lot of music about video games. Worth listening to.

Sybreed. Very, very good industrial metal band.

Gojira. A very good, and quite accessible, progressive death metal band.

Strapping Young Lad. Is sometimes described as an industrial progressive death metal band, but can best be described as amazing.

Devin Townsend. Main person behind Strapping who has done a lot of solo work in many styles. All of it is outstanding.

Shade Empire. They're technically symphonic black metal, but they're sound kind of transcends that genre. There should be some aspect of them that you like.

Septic Flesh. A band that is quite heavy for being a melodic death metal band.

The Project Hate. A very awesome industrial death metal band.

Summoning. An atmospheric black metal band. They're a little hard to get into, but once you do, it is so worth it.

Gorguts. A very extreme death metal band. Listen at your own risk.

all those song imo were not good but were not bad either. in other words i am still indifferent towards metal.
Then maybe metal just isn't your thing, and you shouldn't try to force it. I like to think that even if you like a couple of things that fall into a certain genre, you may still not like the genre as a hole.

I also disagree with Greater Evil about Black Sabbath being better than anything posted here, but to each his own.

Even tough the lead singer is no longer with them and they have not released new material in a while, check out Hail The Villain. A good, heavy, angry metal band.
I would also suggest Volbeat. They are ear sex.

I'm a big fan of Sabaton, which is odd because I'm not big on metal, but I think it is the historical nature of their music that I really enjoy.

I would suggest Unleash the Archers, just because a.)they're Canadian, (as am I), and b.) there's something about Brittney Hayes doing their clean vocals that I find oddly alluring.

Sabaton- Awesome metal about actual wars. its like a history lesson with a guitar solo

Blind Guardian- Many of thier songs are about fantasy literature, including Lord of the Rings and other Tolkien works, The Song of Ice and fire, and the Wheel of Time

All this and no Iron Maiden??? o_O

What you need to know about metal thou is that Live reccordings are usually much better than studio albums, or that might just be my opinion, I like also loads of the music already mentioned.

And as a Finn...

There are of course a lot more like W.A.S.P., Helloween, Mötley Crüe, Reckless Love, Crashdiet etc etc
