I'm working my way through the challenges to unlock this outfit.. bane of my life! Those hunting missions are ridiculous.. Just need 2 more foxes..

No joke- on the search for my final 2 foxes I headed to the hill just east of Fort Mercer- an area where I usually see foxes a-plenty. None. I was there for 3 hours real time.. But, I did kill and skin over 60 cougars. No joke... and this is only after the challenge where I had to knife down 3 cougars. Took me AGES. Now I don't need Cougars- SIXTY!! Well.. still haven't got my foxes, but I made an absolute fortune selling off my cougars. Made up for it somewhat.

Any tips? I swear the game knows what you're looking for and hides them.

i love how frantic things get when you tie up a bounty and the gang starts chasing you. i've had my horse shot out from under me twice while doing that, the first time throwing me off a cliff. you have to find a horse and put the guy on it while trying to fend off the gangs. i put the guy on a gang member's horse, and it started running off without me. it made everything stressful, but it was still a blast.

I have! I managed to keep the first horse that I broke in, in one of the Bonnie MacFarlane missions, for quite a long time. If he/she (?) ever died, I would reload and continue. I was quite determined to keep that horse for the whole game. I see them as more than just transport, I guess that's the effect of the game!

Then I did one of the breaking in side missions to obtain a outfit scrap and was informed that THAT horse was now my trusty steed. I had lost my favourite horse and it was replaced with some random one. I could have cried, sad times. :(
Nightmare, thanks for the warning, will save me $1500 for the new one

Also does anyone know where the Boars are??? (Hunting level 5)

Well it follows the same kinda template and structure as GTA.I wasn't the biggest fan of GTA 4 either but I'm thoroughly enjoying this game.If you're unsure though maybe try renting it or wait till it comes down in price

Like the poster above me said.. I also wasn't a huge fan of the GTA franchise, but Red Dead Redemption..... I love.......
Again, it plays in a similar way to GTA, ie, you're given your freedom to wreak havoc upon the citizens etc etc.. but its soo sooo SO much better. I mean everything, from actors/acting, soundtrack, graphics, gameplay, story.. its brilliant. Not saying it doesn't have flaws, it has many, but most of these are funny and add to my enjoyment. Especially like the bird-men, gunslinger dog etc.. Seen a fair few of them.

Its great. If you're not sure try renting it, but honestly.. I only ordered it cus I was drunk. And for ONCE, a drunken mistake/purchase turned out to be amazing. One of the best games I've played in a looooooong time! Get it, and I hope you enjoy it. If not.... well, I'll pay you back!

I love hunting in that game, just adore it. I've netted myself a tiny profit from hunting wolves in Mexico and Buffalo in West Elizabeth. :D
I'd be shocked if you pulled in a loss when you aren't spending money.

I've never sold anything, don't particularity plan to. I hoard in all games.

Edit: Also, has anyone else developed an emotional attachment to their horse? The one the comes whenever you hit the up button. I have. ^^ Me and him have been through a lot. He's brown with white splodges. No idea where I got him. I killed
the stallion you get at the start of the game
in my first ride of him. Yay for tall cliffs. I feel like I should name my horse.
I killed my first horse form a cliff, but then i got that stallion, i kept him until Mexico, where he unfortunately got mauled by cougars when i was trotting along aiming at a deer

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, only just got this now.

Well, a lot of the animals(Especially foxes, beavers, etc.) can usually be found in the tall trees or the great plains. I fount foxes all over the place in tall trees... A lot of bears though, too. Careful regarding that.

Mind you, the hunting challenges do get much easier if you have the third part of the story unlocked. Like I said, in the tall trees and great plains there's all kinds of animals(including the fastest horse in the game, if I'm correct about that.)

Hunting, Poker, Arm Wrestling, and Liar's Dice. I love hunting to death. The bears and buffalo are my favorite "game". Shooting birds out of the sky is also great fun. As for the gambling? Great addition to the game. Liar's dice and Poker are just too much fun. And for reasons I'm not entirely sure of, Arm Wrestling is extremely fun to me. Great game.

I totally know what you mean. I'm on the Armadillo's/themotherstuffohyeahboars and it's fricking annoying. Also, it says "as well as the ones you have" that doesn't work for me. If I go do another mission it's suddenly zeroed, how annoying is that!

This actually is an annoying part of the game. Sometimes all you have to do is shoot the weapon out of their hands; other times you actually have to kill them by shooting them 45 times. And its not clear when one is allowed or not until you try to shoot their weapon and find out that it isn't good enough. And it shouldn't be the game deciding, it should be me. Maybe I don't wan tot shoot the guy dead? Maybe I want to shoot the weapon out of his hand and then put a bullet in him in real time? Maybe I only want to fire one shot at their head, instead of firing my entire magazine/cylinder into them. Its just messy.

Really? Huh.. that sucks. Never happened to me.
For Armadillos, it sounds like a cheap answer, but just hunt the area north of Armadillo and south of the Hanging Rock. It took me like 5 hours, but I finally got them. The boars are REALLY easy.. just go to the place on your map with the boar picture. can't remember, not at home, but I think its north of MacFarlane's ranch, up on the steep hill. But be careful.. a lot of Cougars up there too!

Still haven't gotten my 2 foxes... ARGHHH. I'm back home tomorrow evening. I swear, I will stay up ALL night until 1 hour before my flight until I give up!
