Are you really thinking anyone can give a decent view to a persons psyche from this little information? I said I can often tell what kind of a person they are, not always, and not a complete psychological map.

I'll give a short version of what I can tell from those answers.

Calm personality, but still a person on the move, not into too much detail, just for the good in things. You appear to be more into the seize the moment-mentality, following your dreams kind of person. You appreciate humor, but more the mainstream US sense of humor with a sarcastic twist. You take things easy, you are not goal driven. You have a need feel that you are right, to prove your own worth. Might have a case of repsessed anger (the last was a personal guess, nothing to do with your answers).

I won't go out with a girl if they can't point to Iraq on a map. Probably why I haven't gone out on a date for about 6 months. Damn my unusually high standards!
Here's the question: do you have country borders on this map or not?
Reminds me of this

A long time ago I came to the realisation that all women, even if they have a liking for some good things, will inevitably like crap music/movies/books (I don't think colour is fair!). Women are wired up a different way which allows them to listen to tripe without their ears falling off, it's just nature. Smart girls I've known enjoy listening to Britney Spears, there's just no accounting for taste.

Favourite film: Vanishing Point (1971)
Favourite band: The Doors
Favourite book: Homage to Catalonia by George Orwell
Favourite colour: Blue (kind grey-blue if I get to choose)

How did I know that would be the Chasers without even clicking the link?

As for me, if we don't share interests I won't date her. I can't spend my time with someone if we have no mutual interests. That means she needs to like mythology, fantasy, games, history or some combination of the above.

I find it somewhat ironic that the only girl I've met so far who meets these criteria turned me down. Turns out my kind of girl is a tomboy who doesn't feel like dating.

Even smart ones might like to listen to Britney Spears, but the thing is, that personally I can't. If I had to listen to sub-par music in my own home, I just could not stand it.
The color actually has a point. What would you think differs with a person who says her favourite color is dark purple to a person who says it is bright orange. Favourite color can directly be linked to what people want to see around them, and colors do have some meaning.

I lose absolutely all interest in women whom smoke and/or use drugs. Heavy drinking is also a no-no.

Smart or stupid I dont care about, its when they start to judge YOU!!! And then tell you exactly what they think. ETC:

1)You eat meat? Thats so barbaric
2)How could that ever be funny?
3)You just dont like it because you cant understand it...

and my all time favourite, when somethings blatantly crap or pretencious, "you need to be more open minded"...Right.

How do I know what sketch it is without even watching. All hail the Chasers!

Anyway, this thing with flatearth is fun.

Favourite film: Pan's Labrinth
Favourite band: I'm not that far into music to know bands from others, but musicwise I like Alternative.
Favourite book: Lovercraft at the moment, though I enjoyed Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Favourite colour: Purple, naturally.

Nobody acts like themselves when first getting to know someone. Sure you hid a few things from her that'd she'd potentially run a mile because of.

But I'll defend your point to a degree as Pearl Harbour is the ONLY film I've ever walked out of the cinema for. So yeah, I see your point, but you can't hold it against her, just the 1 shite film.

Typecast:
I've actually been in a relationship with the opposite. We could talk for hours but it just didn't work. At least not for me.

The Devils Guitar:
Aren't open minded people those who don't judge? Those that accept others and are in for new experiences or thoughts? What's crap or pretentious about that? In fact, it rather strokes with the rest of your post.

One of my main deal breakers is super simple. Smoking. Done and gone, perhaps a one night stand and outta there.

And in fact, close minded people are a problem for me. Can't imagine a comic book to have an interesting story and don't even care to listen to an example or simply accept my liking of them? We're done, there's no way this is going to work in the long run.

I'm trying to work here, I can't spend all my time here :)

PurpleRain's answers direct towards escapism, mysticism, love of fantasy. Minimum of mediocre/high intelligence. Most likely slightly pessimistic view on the world, personality being more of a "kicked in the head" kind. I'm going on a limb here, but were you bullied at school?

I'm joining in!

Favourite Film: Harvie Krumpet
Favourite Band: U2 (Didn't write my favourite song, but they make consistently good ones)
Favourite Book: Interesting Times by Terry Pratchett (I can't think of a definite favourite; I'll go with this)
Favourite Colour: Blue

Oh, and black isn't a colour. It's a shade.

Black is the color of objects that do not emit or reflect light in any part of the visible spectrum; they absorb all such frequencies of light. Although black is sometimes described as an "achromatic", or hueless, color, in practice it can be considered a color, as in expressions like "black cat" or "black paint".
Gotta love Wikipedia

You work when we say you work!

I do like fantasy as much as the next, but I generally hold steam/cyber punk higher. Though they do count as a form of fantisy so I'd say you're right.
As for bullying, I wasn't actually bullied, though I wasn't apart of the 'in' crowed.

I'm not going to decrypt your answers anymore, I just told this so you would get the idea of it. Think of the answers youself, it is quite logical. The good thing about this, is that by asking these very easy and non-threatening questions, you can tell something about the other person without sounding too oppressive or coming on too strong.

EDIT. PurpleRain, by fantasy I mean any kind of fantasy, cyberpunk or medieval.

Probably bad taste in music/television/film/etc., though religious beliefs tend to be a pretty big turn-off for me. When someone loves hip-hop, Dancing with the Stars, etc., it's a pretty good indication that you need to get the hell out of there as fast as you can.

Yeah, I was just willing to see how long you'd go with it. I have a brittish friend that does this sort of thing. I can see how you do it, since there's not a lot to it. The more someone talks the more info you get until you narrow it down. But I still like watching people do it to see how far they can stray.

(Sigh) You can go back to your work now.

Yeah, there's that generalization there that fantasy is DnD, LotR's, etc.

This answer actually gave away some parts of your personality, but you can think of those yourself, or do you wish to correct me and prove my theories wrong ;)
Just kidding, but the fact is, the more you listen, the more you know. And as an added bonus, listening to a woman is pretty much the best way to pick up girls.
