Faith is nothing to be proud of, it's harmful. It's false hope with the ribbon of tradition tossed on top.
But you know, considering there's kids DYING in horrible squalor in the world, I find my faith comforting in that there is more for them than merely dying a slow, painful death from disease and starvation. Giving up my faith in that there something more would certainly be trading a cruel universe for a crueler one.

I think I'll go harm someone right now with my faith by donating to Lutheran World Relief.

Like I said, false hope. I can believe that Jesus is filling their tummies magically with lollypops and chocolate and rainbows and hugs....there, my do I feel better! However it's false hope, it can't be disproven but I can believe it. I don't see how having faith that your deity is allowing children to die in horrible squallor in a slow and painful way from disease and starvation is better than them starving and dying without some 'loving' deity looking over it and doing nothing.

Nothing wrong with donating money (well, unless they use some of it for nonessentials...I have a friend whose charity died because for every $50 donated $20 went to a study Bible and $10 went to a rosary for such children), but secular organizations do it as well. I'd rather just donate directly to Norman Borlaug, tbh.

Yeah, that's a rarity.

Oh crap, I guess not. After researching I found about 50+ cases of the ACLU helping defend the religious.
