Religious Extremist Ruining my School

Yeah, this happens quite alot. Some Joe/Jane Jesus Jr decides that something is bad and they have to set all the poor pagans straight. Of course, this isn't limited to religous people, atheists can do the same thing too (for example, bitching about a manger scene on public property).

So heres what I have to say, if you have the opinion that something is wrong and should be taken away SHOVE IT UP YOUR ASS. Nobody wants to hear any religous or anti-religous bullshit and if you don't like something just stay away from it but don't try to take it away from other people just because you don't like it because thats infringing on peoples rights.

Most of what you've said is either out of context or ignoring the reasons WHY the Church did such things. About the only two things on that list that are justified to be angry with are the AIDS thing (which many Catholics disagree with the Pope on) and the priest thing.

And as far as the priest thing goes, the administration was attempting to hide the pedophiles because they feared this sort of reaction if the truth came to light. They should have immediately outed them, but because they feared the negative reactions of the public, they tried to sweep it under the rug. It was a bad decision on their part, and it's caused many in the Church to get pretty pissed off (putting it mildly) with the administration.

Religious extremists are fun. Especially christian ones. (No offense to christians, I believe the religion is good for children growing up.) It's pretty much demonizing every person other than the people that believe in what they do, and I like how they speak of love and happiness, the laughable kind of like. I think Religion is the same thing as science. They both explained how the world worked. Only with Science, things have gotten to a more progressive (and at times, dangerous) level. Think about it. People before the Renaissance didn't have that great of scientific equipment. So they had to explain things somehow. But like anything in the world, Religion was used to further personal goals. Christ has gone from a revolutionary thinker to a figure head, and his teachings, for the most part, have been lost through roughly 2 millennia of being misquoted. So don't hate religion, that's not the problem. Hate the people that abused it to further their agenda. And with all the "kill the woman" talk, aren't we becoming extremists, the thing that we hate the most? (yes I realize that some of it is in jest, but seriously that's counter productive)

She can refrain from them herself, or even keep her son from it, for now, but she has to let people believe in whatever they want and it will always be that way. I'm going to keep it simple: Let the school board know that the student body is very much opposed to this. State your rights to not be silenced and inconvenienced by this kook.

If she poses no real threat, and the faculty don't take her seriously, just give her the cold shoulder and ignore her. Giving her more attention than she deserves only encourages people like that.

It's people like that which makes me happy I am an Atheist. However, as you said before she has the right to believe whatever she wants, as long as she doesn't force it on other people. And since she does just that she has all the right in the world to go sit in a cave somewhere and "talk to jesus" or whatever.
