They are finally gonna open the area for tourists this year I think. I really wanna go as well.badgersprite said:Oh my God! Pripyat, Ukraine looks like Pripyat, Ukraine! The shock!
Sorry for the sarcasm, but I don't understand what you're trying to say here. Did people really not know this was a real place, or that the level design was actually based off the abandoned city?
Anyway, I'd love to go there.
FAKE! You can't get anywhere near Reactor 4 or Chyernobyl at all. It's military controled and they deny access to anyone without extreme clearence.hyplion said:Radiation is high near the sarcophagus:

Ah, you might have dude, I was just jovially pointing out that on the high difficulties the enemies' AKs are more than a match for the two sniper rifles!Housebroken Lunatic said:Hmm, can't really remember what difficulty I played in. But I do remember playing it through on a difficulty setting that was significantly harder than "normal". How many difficulty settings are there in CoD: MW again? (I borrowed the game from a friend and those were pretty much my only playthroughs so)MiracleOfSound said:Someone didn't play Veteran difficulty![]()
Well someone obviously did if there's a photo of it right there.Judgement101 said:FAKE! You can't get anywhere near Reactor 4 or Chyernobyl at all. It's military controled and they deny access to anyone without extreme clearence.hyplion said:Radiation is high near the sarcophagus:

I think this is the photo you're referring to?Retardinator said:One of my favorite photos from Pripyat is one taken inside an abandoned school, in the music classroom. On the piano there are music sheets with a toppled inkwell on top. The spilled, dried ink making a thick, black curve along the sheets. It looks very artistic and makes a statement.
I tried my best to find it but couldn't...
By the way, if you're looking for photos of Pripyat look no further [http://www.angelfire.com/extreme4/kiddofspeed/]
You can get close but not beyond the gate. Making photographs is also bound to certain rules - only photographs made from a certain angle are allowed, all others will make the guards go mental (or so I heard). You're right that the plant is controlled by the military, however you're allowed to get this closeJudgement101 said:FAKE! You can't get anywhere near Reactor 4 or Chyernobyl at all. Cheater!!!stinkychops said:I beg to differ. The veteran difficulty camping spot was sprinting across the map to an abandoned apartment block behind where the enemies spawned and camping there (killing 4 enemies exactly) until the heli arrived.
[sub][sub][sub]Why do I still remember this?! Why did I bring it up?![/sub][/sub][/sub]
Is it generally accepted that non-english words that do not have an English equivalent (especially proper nouns) are just spelled phonetically? It seems true. I recall in a former job being annoyed that Arabic names and titles could be spelled correctly many different ways, which always made it fun trying to determine if Muhammad and Mohammad were referring to the same guy or not.Marq said:The city is called 'При́пять' actually, and both 'Pripyat' and 'Pripiat' are accepted english translations.BlindTom said:In depth research reveals that the city is called 'Pripyat,' not 'Prypiat.'
Thankyou for that link, these photo's are all the more fascinating.Thedutchjelle said:I think this is the photo you're referring to?Retardinator said:One of my favorite photos from Pripyat is one taken inside an abandoned school, in the music classroom.
