I downloaded it, played it, hated it, I'm sorry but this game isn't for me, what did it was you can't move while shooting, melee does little(your punch does better than the knife), and using both trigers to fire a wepon is bullshit, any game with guns should have hip fire and this one does not.
Have you ever played a Resident Evil or what? If this game was like the same old crap you get in Halo and Call of Duty it wouldn't be the same, I'm guessing you got killed by the first zombie you went up against, don't judge a game because you don't like the system, stick to your lousy games where you shoot from the hip.
I think it's fair to judge a game by its 'system'. It's the control of and the gameplay that are major factors in people's view of a game.
I know but the point I am trying to get across is that you can't compare it to the likes of the average FPS such Halo and Call Of Duty as they are completely different in terms of game play.

I read many of your opinions. Much thanks because I have a PS3 and as far as I know I can't get the demo yet. I LOVED RE4 so very very much, so from you all have said I will love RE5.

Isn't there 2 different control systems?

Players can also choose between the classic ?Resident Evil?-style controls or switch to the newer ?Action? controls inspired by games like ?Gears of War 2? and ?Halo 3.?
According xbox.com anyway

PS. whats the size of the demo anyway?

The two character system. By having two characters almost all sense of horror is lost. It becomes much more of a co-op action game than a survival horror.
This is my main problem with Resi 5. Everything else is pretty much what I'd expect from the game but it does also seem to have lost the clammy, oppressive atmosphere of 4. The introduction of a co-op character who can be chainsawed to death instantly if you're not careful really grates. On the flip side of this constantly dying and being revived by your team-mate removes all of the tension that was present in Resi 4. You don't get scared when all you need to do is wait for your partner to come and pick you up.

And I don't think that it's an improvement on Ashley's AI, because Ashley would always do EXACTLY what you told her and was supposed to be vulnerable and weak. She also couldn't die instantly, unlike Sheva. It may just be a personal thing and I may be being a bit harsh on the game, but I wish they'd just stuck with a single-player experience.

Guys if you want to know the size of the demo just sign into your live account through xbox.com and go to the demo section.

My experiance is similar; I really wanted to like the game but not being able to fire whilst moving is ridiculous when the game throws zombies at you from all sides.

I'm really having mixed feelings about it. It has elements from RE 4 that I loved... but I hate having to babysit my partner and making sure she has ammo. Playing with a person was cool though.... I'm hopeful, and as a Resident Evil fan I'm going to save my full judgment for the full game.

This seems to be the recuring theme here.

I'm glad to hear it, maybe if people complain enough Capcom will at least add some form of "no-scope" system. At presant the system may work in an Horror game, but this is pure action - and as such needs a fast-paced firing mechanism.

Ths game is not a Residant evil of old; its no longer a horror game, the demo sections were nearly all action - and these mechanics do not work well in said enviroment.

Im really confused here.

I read the above posts and most people seem to be bashing the co-op, but for me that's one of the highlights. You see I was never truly scared during RE4 because the story line and I were separated by a brick wall of bad story and script, so the argument that Co-op gets rid of the "scariness" doesn't apply to me. It's actually refreshing to play RE with a buddy because his screams and cries for help make the game have a greater sense of immersion, and fun. Also the human character allows you to cooperate, trade, and run tactics, things an AI has a hard time doing on the fly.

The co-op is WHY im excited about this game, not why I think its bad.

I doubt it people have said it was dumb long before RE became an action game. They have not listened.

It is pretty much exactly the same as RE4, except the graphics are prettier, your partner can actually use a gun, when you open your attache case it no longer pauses the game, and you're killing infected Africans instead of infected Spaniards.

Oh yeah, and you still can't move whilst using a gun. I was really hoping they'd let you do that in this one, but alas, they did not.
If you press a trigger, it goes into shooting mode. The left analog then controls your aim, thus, it cannot also control your movements. The right analog is the camera. Anyway, you wouldn`t want to move with the right analog.
Basically, that is why you can't shoot and walk at the same time.
While this kind of control scheme is kind of nuts it means I will be able to aim without breaking my hands since I happen to be left handed. If anything they should have just had movement put on the right stick when you press the button to go into shooting mode.

My friends experience was: bad controls, not scary, slow movement, you can't move and shoot.

I really wanted to like it, but it just seems clunkier than RE4 somehow. In RE4, the transfer to an action game worked well because it gave you lots of ammo and a big inventory to keep it all. In RE5, it seems they tried to reintroduce the survival horror into the RE4 mechanics, and as such there's a lot less ammo to play with and it's far too easy to get cornered. If they decided to make it more action or more like the survival horror of old then it wouldn't feel quite so torn and stretched.
