So after they 'exposed' The Force Awakens as 'SJW propaganda', they believe they have cost the Force Awakens $4.2 million in lost ticket sales.

Great victory dudes, I'm sure Disney will really miss that $4.2 million from the billion dollars + they've already made.

(changed title as ROK is technically not an MRA site)

Wait a minute, Return of Kings is now considered MRAs? How does that work? They openly hate MRAs. Like, you literally can not be less of an MRA if you where the stereotypical "Feminazi" who reads SCUM and doesn't think it's fascist filth. You could call them Liberals, Conservatives or even Feminists and the title wouldn't be more incorrect then it already is.

How did they know it was 4.2, not 4.1 or 4.3?

And yeah, echoing Zontar, they openly state that they are not part of the MRM. They may look much the same to outsiders, and in many ways they were, but that's like saying Hitler and Stalin were the same.

(Before anyone says it, I don't expect Return of Kings to annex bits of Poland or anything, just using those two are examples of mutually hostile ideologies that seem similar)

Whatever they are, those guys are fucking paranoid jokes.
How did they arrive at that number, anyway? Because I could pull a number from my ass and say they made $40 million because of their diverse cast

But yeah, I scrolled through their twitter page and they are a literal fucking joke, good for a laugh

They are absurd, yes, but they are amongst merely the most extreme examples of a wider issue. Also, while they have little power in of themselves, they are still rather scary, I think boasting about the way they abuse their wives and kids is not uncommon.

Wait, I remember a news article around November that was bleating this kind of shit, but I thought someone ended up doing some more due diligence and found that it was just one Twitter or blog runner that was firing shit at a wall. Are these clowns for fucking real? I'm sure they'll miss that (presumably plucked from the ether) amount of money against one of the most powerful juggernauts in popular culture as it continues to sell tickets at an incredible rate and from that generate toy sales that could be confused for the GDP of a small nation.

MRA's celebrate 'making The Force Awakens lose $4.2 mil'

I mean seriously these guys think that was a serious hit to a fucking Star Wars movie. talk about sore losers. this sounds like something a Saturday morning cartoon villain would say after he was defeated.

that was a prank I believe but from what I've heard some people did take it seriously. Poe's law in full effect here.

I mean these guys have their heads so far up their own asses especially since I've heard no one complain about sjw type messages in this film. they only have a black guy and a woman in it (like the original trilogy).

Those pesky MRAs again, they keep saying the darndest things, don't they!

As far as I know, ReturnOfKings are not part of the Mens Rights Movement. Do you actually have any sources to suggest otherwise, or are we just to take your claims at face value?

1. Return of Kings is pretty low hanging fruit on the best of days.
2. While they often vomit up similar sounding rhetoric, it is my understanding that RoK has no real affiliation with any other MRM.
3. The financial weight of 4.2 million against the current box office gross of TFA is so patently absurd that I have a hard time believing they're not trolling. Just like the people who post transparent shit like "A Radical Feminist did an Extremist Thing, You'll Never Guess What Happens Next!" for morons to circle jerk over, I think a healthy skepticism for anything that seems this stupid on its face is healthy.

Adorable.

However, they likely know as well as anyone that it's bullshit. They also know that it's a sure fire way to gain attention.

Don't give them what they want. Leave them alone to rot in their hole.

I had never checked out this 'Return of Kings,' so I decided to take this opportunity to do so. And oh boy... this is glorious. A monument of ignorance built upon the bones of the internet, with bricks of arrogance and mortar of lies.

Besides the obviously bullshit 'fact' of how much they cost Disney, I'd just like to voice how bullshit this whole 'organization' is. If they tweeted that the sun is hot, I'd spend a week in scientific study just to make sure it is, because their affirmation of that would instantly cast the entire concept of what a star is into a frenzy of uncertainty. My disbelief in them completely outweighs my belief in Sagan.

Also, I have to voice my agreement with many others - They are not an MRA. MRA implies an agenda and general system of beliefs that Return of Kings doesn't even try top aspire to, as it seems to exist purely to demonstrate that toxic masculinity is a thing that actually happens.

SHhh, Shhh child. You only give them more power. Good work with that. But yeah, even though I don't really know or care about this stuff, a star wars movie is not going to do poorly box office wise, especially one like this.

Cant even watch a popular science fiction movie without some kind of rights activists jumping on it. Fucking should stop making games lest I get popular enough to be considered an anti-disability dick (make fun of a friend's Tourette's who's totally OK with it. Hell, he even does his stupid laugh at some of the jokes at his expense).

Debate on ROK as MRM aside (because I don't really give a crap), the idea that these movements hold any real sway outside their echo chambers has always puzzled me.

Why? Because of things like this.

Well, except ROK has been getting exposure for quite some time and never seems to gain any power. Wonder why that is.

And meanwhile, Disney's execs roll up 4.2 million dollars worth of cash into joints and smoke them.

There isn't a debate, ROK's openly despises the MRM, and the MRM seems to feel the same way given what I've seen.

That's part of the problem now isn't it? I mean just look back at Fury Road, another instance where ROK stated some bullshit. The Mary Sue and other garbage rags took that and started reporting that MRAs where complaining about the movie in a way that would have, if they where based out of Canada or the UK, have gotten them 6 figure fines for violating anti-propaganda laws. Keeping one's opponent on the fringes is easy when one can slander them without recourse, though in the Anglo nations that aren't the US it's becoming more politically mainstream since the equality movement hasn't been as bastardized as it has in the US.

Man, that Twitter account is terrifying, and just the slightest bit hilarious. This reminds me of that guy who committed suicide when he learned one of the main characters in TFA was black. It seems this film has inadvertently become a litmus test for bigots. And with the money this movie is making, none of the actors who have now been catapulted to the A list are going to even shit for less than $4.2 million. The figure and this group are both sad, and slightly hilarious.

That doesn't mean the values the hold, their goals, and the language they are very dissimilar, which seems to be the main reason behind the comparison. When I perused their Twitter, I came up with the same kind of anti-women and pro-masculinity[footnote]Not that masculinity is a bad thing, but the kind of masculinity they want to see rise up is the primitive "Beat your wife over the head with a club and drag her back to your cave" kind of masculinity that has no place this side of the stone age.[/footnote] drivel I've seen peddled by so-called MRM groups. If I hadn't already read here that there is some kind of animosity between them and MRM, I honestly would have assumed they were the same thing. The Westboro Baptist Church and "pro-family" lobbying groups may be different groups that hold no love for each other, but their goals are often very similar, and to those who don't agree with them they may as well be the same thing.
