The myth has been retold many times and varies depending on author though, the one im most familiar with is Ovides version which doesnt have the "incapable of love" part, the sculptor ends up having a kid with the ivory woman iirc. Now I'm not having a go, I don't mind that you feel that way, I just want to know why some people consider real life girls pig disgusting. Of course you have to deal with all the smells and fluids of a real girl no matter how much perfume they use, whereas it's completely optional with 2D girls whether or not you want to imagine they have any body fluids or unpleasant smells.

Maybe part of the problem is holding the ideal girl on a pedestal as a completely sanitary, angelic creature who does not poop, does not breathe, does not have any of the human bodily functions that a male has. Are there any more reasons?

Anyway, it's not about fantasies, you can fantasize about whatever you want, it's about choosing something that's not real over something that's real. Presumably anyone who'd choose the image on the right are the kind of people who'd rather f*ck a Japanese love pillow instead of a real live flesh and blood woman. The only way that the 2D image of a girl is better than a real one would be at all true is if you wanted the sum of your interactions to be to stare blankly at her. I'm given to understand that real life ones take offense to that if you do it for too long.

Well, we are in the same timezone (Germany) so I was already spaced out when you answered

I already looked into that forum. While some of the people are 'understandable' frustrated they at least don't project their problems on others... And then there is the funny stuff. People who try to explain how their situation is the fault of women with psychology. It made my evening (read some of it aloud to friends in TS).

There is also the more tame Love-Shy forum, but that one is more geared towards actual dating advice. I felt real awkward reading it though, but not in a "I feel inferior"-kind of way, if you get what I mean.

On-topic (for once): I will just state here that I have little to no problem with someone having a preference for drawn wo/men over real life wo/men. Their sexuality, their preference, none of my business, etc.

That doesn't detract from the fact that many people do feel a genuine kinship with these characters and an understanding for them, despite the lacking mutuality of that sentiment.

Is it a 'truly' a 'relationship'? I suppose not. Is it 'truly' love? Maybe, albeit one-sided.

For a given defintion of love. When most of us are talking about romantic love, we aren't talking about being "hot under the collar" and lusting after someone. We are talking about being in a sustained relationship with someone, of having to deal with their flaws, of seeing their dirty clothing on the floor or whatever.

Thus to talk about romantic love when it is completely devoid of any capactiy of being returned, rejected or even aware is silly.

I would much prefer the term infatuation, seems more apt to describe the situation.
