Something which has been amusing me lately. Guys saying that they prefer 2D girls to their 3D counterparts.

I'm not sure I'd call this "amusing" so much as I'd call it "The downfall of civilization as we know it"!

In all seriousness, those "guys" who say that probably spend way too much time in their heads (and probably in their bedrooms)indulging copious amounts imaginary self-satisfaction.

Do that long enough and actual women start to loose their luster. After all, the "2D" girl is available any time, does what she's told and is never slob.

But ultimately, reality...warts and all...is just better than fantasy because it's, y'know, real.

Errrr okay, that's fine, your choice, but why does there need to be a movement about it, or any form of aggressive 'accept me or I will throw a tantrum!' reaction on images that are '3D' in nature.

They're not real, or will ever exist in this plane. End of. There doesn't need to be any acceptance, at most you will just be told you are weird. The equivalent of a girl wearing a sweater her grandma knitted in high-school. A bit odd, but nothing to phone home about.

I understand some people might be joking when using that line, but I guess some might be serious as well and they've gotta just put a lid on it sadly. I like anime guys as much as the next gal, but... any further than that makes me just ask what I'm doing with my life and I move back to doing more productive things with my brain.

Imagine if they would say that about another sexal orientation, like being homosexual. That would surely grant them a warning, but because we are talking about fujioshi and waifu otakus is arite to call them loosers and say that they should get out of the gene pool.

That is exactly why it needs to be a movement about it. Having a relation with a 2D girl is just a sexual preference, I have friends who do and totally understand their logical and aestetic reasons. Never went that way myself because boobs and other stuff are WAY too fun.

As for the reality of the relationship. Any decent use of philosophy of science will tell you that you also don't love a real girl when you have a relationship, but the idea of her, because reality is not comprenhesible for humans. The only difference is that loving a girl and a 2D anime is that in one instance your love is based on a person (with a body you can interact with) or a 2D image (sadly without one).

I didn't say they should 'get out of the gene pool'. I'm fine with it existing. I'm just saying that it would be catastrophic for the human race if this were a widespread view, and by happy coincidence, the very nature of it prevents that from happening. Homosexuals are generally still fine with humans being human, and can have babies by IVF. Being repulsed because of something that is intrinsically human is an obstacle to reproduction that cannot be overcome by technology. Also, it is *losers and *otaku. Japanese words do not need to be plural.

Ohh, that was a bit ambiguous then. The "out of the gene pool" usually has a very bad connotiation AFAIK, like saying they should just dissapear or looking down on them. Glad to see the clarification.

As for otaku, i was using it as an english word, as it is already in dictionaries, but yeah, you way it's better and more elegant and i suck at english.

a 2D girl cannot interact with you on the same complex level a real person can, its pretty much a "wilson from castaway" situation...its not the same and I doubt it gives the same level of "love chemicals in your brain that are good for you" or whatever

My closest friend that went that way was a very nice and shy dude, then was raped by a guy at gunpoint in his early 20's, then after that and being vunlerable was manupulated by one unscrupulous gal during years passing terrible experiences but she was crafty enough to keep him after her to exploit the guy.

Then he decided he would just love Asuka Langley Soryu and TBH his life has improved a lot.

Go with your first instinct, don't judge others.

And yeah, a relationship with a 2D girls seem boring for me too. But personally I endorse whatever rocks your boat as long as it is done by yourself or with willing living partners; i just happened to end up in the vanilla heterosexual male option, but at least i try to keep things interesting within that!

I think it's an unfortunate side effect of being single for too long in an era where porn is so easily accessible in such quantities what with the internet. Rather then confronting the shortcomings that are leaving these men single, they can just use porn to satiate their sexual urges and if it goes on long enough, they end up preferring it to real company/the chance of rejection. The longer it goes on, the more removed they become: bodily odors of other human beings become so foreign that they decide they don't like them and would rather not deal with them, reinforcing their relationship to the porn they consume and making the chance of getting into a real relationship even less likely.

I've been thinking for a while about why I think anime characters look so much better, and I think it's the complexion. Like, an anime character doesn't have that slightly-inconsistent skin caused by pigmentation, blood vessels, capillaries, etc. that humans do. I mean, they blush and sometimes have red cheeks, but I'm talking about otherwise. They don't have wrinkles, dimples, inconsistencies, or anything like that, either. It's just so... perfect, you know? It might also be their big heads and expressive eyes, and as much as I hate to admit it, it's simply easier to be attracted to an anime girl, at least for me.

If by perfect you mean proportionally deformed, featureless, flat and samey, then yes. I know exactly what you mean! Though personally, I find that nothing beats the smooth, creamy perfection of a newly created 1024x1024 pixel Photoshop document. Real paper has nothing on it.

based on sankaku complex and 4chan its less about sexual preference and more that they have no chance at any real life woman. This could be for a large amount of reasons such as feelings of inadequacy(usually from real reasons like being fat or having a small penis) or that they just dont make enough money which seems to be a major reason in japan where you dont seem to have a chance at a female unless you make the equivalent of 75k in us dollars. As such there is a growing movement to just say fuck it and try to focus on what they can have even if it is all in their head while calling real women disgusting to make themselves feel better.
