Who would have thought Microsoft would be the good guys after all this. They are like becoming the ultimate Anti-hero that no one wanted now What a turn around all this is.

Actually, at least as far as Net Neutrality is concerned, it's pretty much just the FCC that's the good guys. So we're even more screwed, since at least if it were up to Microsoft they'd get something done.

Can they even afford that? I mean sony is a BIG company with it's own vision, ethos and independant traditions. Same story with EA, why would they want to be part of the apple family? Wouldn't that mean they would have to shift their entire focus? I don't think either company would be bought out under almost any circumstances, especially by a company such as Apple. Are you kidding me? The Walt Disney corporation is literally one of the most powerful companies in the world. I'd put about as much stock into Apple being able to buy out the Disney corporation as, say, Apple buying out Microsoft. It won't happen any time soon.

I'm pretty sure Sony is worth approximately 3 times as much as Apple. This is so very close to impossible.

One fairly inconsequential software company buying out another is a fairly meh move. Apple buying Adobe though would be a game changer, Adobe are the gods of multimedia; a field Apple excels in. If they stopped shipping Photoshop and the like for Windows it would basically give them a monopoly in the field.

Even worse, it would force Microsoft to make their own attempt at the Adobe Creative suite, and it would be terrible!

I wasn't talking about the acquisition per say, but more what it did to the programme.

Soon as Coral bought JASC Paintshop pro took a turn for the worse, if that was to happen to adobes products.

This is utter nonsense. Apple MAY be able to AFFORD buying out EA games but it's no where near that easy, the company would have to accept the offer.

No, and beside, didn't Apple refined the notion of recycling the same piece of hardware and selling it full price to perfection. Not unlike the Madden series.

If this is real, there's going to be a huge change in the gaming industry. Apple will then have to compete with activision and microsoft.

Too many people simply won't buy their products because they'll be mac-centric. EA will lose an immense share in the market, partly because they'll lose the PC market, but under Apple's direction all their things will be prettier, bar far more useless, than their PC counterparts without some heavy modding and usually a PC emulator of some sort.


That's assuming it even happens.

I'm calling shinanigins on this. Apple is a huge corperation with zillions of dollars, but so are EA and Sony. EA publishes buttloads of stuff and owns a bunch of studios (including Bioware). Sony makes the PS3 and zillions of other electronic items. They're all corporate titans, pretty much equal in revenue. No way Apple has enough money to do this.

If a deal does go through and Apple buys one of these corporations I will genuinely stop buying from that corporation. In all seriousness though, it would be interesting to see all of the cross platform stuff apple does with Sony's console, however it is more likely they will just spend the entire budget trying to make it 1/3rd of the normal size and then sell it as a "magical" device

But in a world where apple did things that were in some way good or interesting, yeah they would make something like the zune music and video marketplace on the 360 and windows phone/zune devices, only for the apple audience (hipsters), then they would make loads more money and then my life would officially be over
