I just looked into the future and saw that the console was a success despite only having a few really good games, I think they were Super Mario Galaxy 3, Zelda: Skyward Sword (Released on Wii too), Mario Kart Touch, Metroid Prime 4, and Kirby's grand adventure.

Well...something like that is going to happen, the name "Wii 2" really does sum up these rumours.

This is just a speculation so I doubt these are the true specs and features of Nintendo's new console, but if it is true I doubt I will be getting one. Yeah graphics aren't everything but after 4 years and no Zelda exclusive, a bunch of first party games that don't appeal to me, and tonnes of shovelware... count me out.

So it's rumoured to be more powerful than a 7 year old console that was notorious for overheating and a 54% failure rate?

Bravo Nintendo you're really setting the bar high here.

That's like saying you're gonna beat the obese kid with athsma at the long jump.

I should hope it would be more powerful than a 7 year old system.

Pretty much this.

But also, there's no reason the Wii cant be more powerful. Its just how much are you willing to pay for it.

Bringing hardcore gamers along for the ride? Really?

Well, hardcore gamers who like Nintendo's first party titles will come along anyway. There's nowhere else to get Mario, Zelda, Kirby, and Metroid. The rest will likely make this face in response to those specs.

This could work out very well for Nintendo. Consider that Microsoft is apparently looking to 2015 for the next Xbox, pushing the 360 for an unusually long lifetime. If Nintendo can get it out sooner... It will clearly be no match for the next Xbox, but if Nintendo has a Wii2 on the market with as much power as the 360 it's competing against for a year or two before the next box is out, it'll be too late.
When did Microsoft say this? Sony have said they have a "10 year plan" for the PS3, but I'll be amazed if the PS3 lasts that long and doubly amazed if Microsoft don't release a new console before the end of 2013.

Yeah. They can't afford it to have someone jump the next generation. That would be a death sentence. If Nintendo jumped early, it would decimate Microsoft and Sony.
Oh yeah, a far more expensive console with an incredibly uncomfortable controller and pretty much no third party upport? How on earth will Nintendo and SOny be able to compete?
Well, the PS3 did launch at 599 USD and that kind of threw them off for 3/4's of the console race so

That hardware is horrible by today's standards. I was hoping for something about twice as powerful as the 360, and this is just a sidegrade really.

Apparently Nintendo learned nothing when their entire hardcore fanbase left them after the Wii.
Well, it has probably already been said, but why should they care if those guys don't play wii?

They made their money with casual gamers and I think that is all they care about

So therefore Nintendo will be screwed if they launch this.
And you are sure that it's going to cost a lot of money? You have a detailed list of all the specs in the system and how much they cost?
