I... b-b-b-but it's Rush Limbaugh, and he's not being a prick.

Congratulations Mr. Limbaugh, I shall despise you a little less today.

Get over yourself. He's not half as insane as people make him out to be (see above), and and if you're truly the polar opposite of what you think he is, then you're just as bad as his reputation (except reversed).
He thinks all members of my religion are terrorists.

How is that sensible ?
He doesn't. He's fully aware that only a select few are. Same with Glenn Beck. However, you've never bothered to see his full comments on the matter, and only have seen what anti-right propaganda has extracted from context.

I listen to rush occasionally, mostly for entertainment. he's ego knows no bounds, he is loud, obnoxious, and yes, he's as right wing as they come. however, 9 times out of 10 he's right. He is very consistent, can always back up his rants with dates references and resources, but most importantly he's willing to to support anyone or thing if they hold true to the American values. The fact that he supports video games as free speech is not surprising, whats surprising is the fact that so many of you are quick to attack him while only giving him a small nod of surprise over this when he's been supporting these very things all along.

One of this season's new Family Guy episodes featured him. It was hilarious.

OT:This is probably one of the few things I agree with him on.

Why does everyone who I know who listens to him think that then? Where do they get this retardation ?

Oh, come off it, guys. I bet everything you ever saw of Rush Limbaugh was a biased, no-context youtube clip. I've read one of his books, and he isn't half as insane as everyone thinks he is (although he still is a bit).

I'll take allies where I can find them.

I am really puzzled....

Yeah, I'm gonna go with the broken clock thing someone else mentioned earlier.
Context, please?

I don't care much for politics, but I do care about video games and the free speech surrounding it. If anyone stands up for video games, they are an ally to me.

One thing I find ironic is that, while Schwarzenegger played heroes in movies. In real life, he is the bad guy. The one who would strip away our freedoms. The mark, of evil.

Even the most extreme political figures can understand some things in gaming. Jack Thompson once defended Mass Effect during the seXBox furore.

I don't particularly like Rush Limbaugh, and I disagree with a good number of his views. However, it is a sign of maturity when you can find common cause on a shared issue despite other disagreements, and I think we gamers could stand to have more maturity associated with us.

So, welcome aboard, Rush.

Because he's complaining about how "There are terrorists, and there are Muslims, but no Muslim terrorists" according to political correctness. Of course there are Islamic terrorists, just as there are Christian terrorists or anti-theological terrorists or eco-terrorists. Why Rush is fighting this so hard, I'm not sure (he's still a little bit crazy), but the whole point is "...we're not painting all of Islam with a terrorist brush. What's being attempted here is to paint the terrorist brush with the peaceful Islam. That's what's being attempted here." <link=http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_081810/content/01125108.guest.html>(link)

Of course, as long as he's fighting this, there's going to be a treasure trove of sound bites that make him sound outright anti-Islamic. Sad, but if they are there, propaganda will use it.

i for one am not confused by this at all. Then i again i am your friendly neighborhood Libertarian and think the government should be staying out of individuals lives and personal freedom. I don't agree with more than half of what Limbaugh says, but there is some truth to his words on occasion.

As far as i am concerned there is a lot of things that need to be changed but free speech is NOT on that list. Pepole have the right to do whatever the hell they want and believe what they want as long as it is not hurting someone else.

Well, I guess even Rush Limbaugh can see how ridiculous this whole thing is.

I love how there's a massive ellipses in the middle of that article.

You fail at recognizing parody.

Rush's take:
"(laughs) You people will remember that we had this story, it was an astounding story that kids are going to starve because the schools are closed. No breakfast, no lunch, no dinner! As though they don't have parents, as though their parents have no idea how to feed them, as though their parents have no idea as to their responsibility to feed them -- and that the kids don't know where to go to get food. So we have this bit where they tell 'em where to go. It's called a kitchen, and there's cupboards in there and sometimes there's a refrigerator in there, and if you have responsible parents there's going to be food in there. If you find that doesn't work, go to a neighbor's house. Then there's also McDonald's and the Happy Meal.

Oh, McDonald's is being sued. McDonald's is being sued over Happy Meals. McDonald's is being sued now by left-wing activists. And then we said, "You know, if that fails, Dumpster diving," because the homeless advocates push that.

... (because I can use ellipses as well)

Of course this pretty close to Patsy Schroeder falling for another joke I made."

Oh, for crying out loud...

That's freaking "Media Matters", the single most anti-right website in the internet, created and funded by the most extreme-left millionaire on the planet.

That's like quoting Conservapedia on left-wing issues.

He asks for context and you pull up MM?

My head hurts....

Media Matters is easily one of the most fringe of a fringe hubs, funded of course by good ol George Soros!
Add these two people saying your source is useless, and I think you need to go sit in a corner until you've figured how to check two sides.

What I don't get is all those American conservatives (Limbaugh included) who seem to think that the constitution says that if you're not an American citizen you don't have any rights within America (thus giving them justification for treating foreign terrorist suspects like shit, etc.). Bullshit, the constitution says PEOPLE, not CITIZENS. Jesus people, at least read the damn constitution before you start to 'defend' it, I'm Canadian and I know more about it then you do.

Well Rush Limbaugh is a pretty extreme right wing and I hate extremes on both sides, but this potential law threatens more than just political ideaologies, and I'm happy to have someone as high profile as Mr. Limbaugh on our side.

A much-reviled political commentator. He's reviled because he's mildly annoying, doesn't think too carefully before speaking, but mostly because he's right wing.
