I pointed it out earlier that I mis-spoke but I'll repeat the gist, it will take a very long time and the dems will be pissed because with the republicans gone they run the show. they can change the law to allow coalitions like in British parliament you know, and they may have to if one party doesn't get a 50% vote.
im not totaly sure i understand what your saying here m8.

you seem (if im reading this right) to be saying that eventualy when we have a multi party system that there will somehow be a need for a majority party like the British need for our American government?

if thats true i dont see why. we could have 535 different partys and each member of the house and the senate could all be an individual party and it wouldnt really matter. all Legislation is passed on a majority vote, doesnt matter what party votes for it, it just needs a majority of the total seats.

in this reguard the only reason that there is a need for a coalition government in the British system is because their Prime minister (or their 'president' to use a rough American term for the office) is the head of the majority party(s) and actualy a part of their parliment. we dont have that problem here, our president is a branch of government unto itself.

ohh and for my two cents, if you think there is waste and bad government NOW, try it with 5 or 6 partys all scrambling to horse trade pork in order to get a majority to pass their own special interest laws. or worse yet, they all just dead lock because the goat fucking party wants free condoms passed out at every county fair but the PETA party calls goat sex animal abuse and wont agree to give the goat fuckers what they want unless the cattle ranchers party will agree to outlawing meat of any kind but especialy beef as food, meanwhile the NRA wont agree too ANYTHING untill we start handing out hand guns in highschool and the pro gay marriage people and the Mormons are pulling knives on each other at the roll call sessions and the friggen president has to send in the Marines just to restore order on a vote that started out too be a simple law that says sunlight is good.

think it wouldnt happen?

Millions of Americans tune into his radio show every single day. This year at the Conservative Political Action Conference in D.C., he was the biggest speaker and only scheduled to speak for 20 minutes. Nevertheless, his presence resulted in the most successful CPAC in its 20+ year history with over 7,000 mostly college-age attendees from across the country. I'd hesitate to call him irrelevant.
As I said before, the guy just preaches to the choir. He is entirely irrelevant. He doesn't change the trajectory of anything whatsoever. He's just a cheerleader. So the size of his choir really doesn't make any point here.
