even though a small portion of humanity is not worth a tinkers curse, as a whole, yes I think there is more to save than not... If there were more than one of us who can stop it, naturally my position would be to argue why I should be the one to do so...if that does not work, knock them out do it anyway..

the needs of the few pale to the needs of the many, one life to save billions..... Call me a Jedi, or a Sōhei, or an idiot...but if it means YOU can draw breath another day, who's to complain?

Its funny because I am actually watching those episodes of DBZ right now, damn pay tv and it's getting me re-addicted to it...

But on topic, I'd give my life to save the Earth, not really worth living if I'm just going to get blown up with the Earth when it goes...

No, Earth doesn't need to be saved. And what you would do would instantly get covered in a vomit we call the media. People would soon forget.

uuuhm...well would i die if i didn't sacrifice myself?

I suppose I would, there are people on this planet i do care about. But I'd better be more popular than Jesus!

Can someone eltse kill me? I dont wanna go to hell

Edit: altough if not I probobly still wold, if I save Gods Earth why wouldent I get into heaven?

I'd then give a big speech about how to love your fellow man and tell the U.S. government to go fuck itself

From a purely egocentric viewpoint, you have two options:

1. Die - it doesn't matter what happens to other people, you die.
2. Live, but everyone else dies and you're forced to live the rest of your life alone (if that's even possible). Then you die.

The end is the same, regardless. So your two options are to die happy under the illusion of heroism, or to die miserable and alone.

As long as the Cats survive I'm good. I'll just stay in my space ship eating all the packed lunches.

We've all seen it. The hero sacrificing himself for earth and all of its citizens. We've seen Goku do it in Dragonball Z and the protagonist do it in Fallout 3(if you got the good ending).
Actually, I see the Fallout 3 protagonist as sacrifacing himself for stupidity, given s/he didn't have to do it (assuming you didn't lose the sidekick). If you've seen the ending, you'll know what I mean.

Well firstly I don't think earth or humanity deserves saving, we've fucked up this planet way too much and there is way to much "evil" amongst humans, too much focus on money and personal gain. You ask if I would let someone sacrifice themselves, well depends who it is, but probably No. Honestly I don't care if I live or die and especially if it was one of the few I cared about. But I'm going to seem strange here (considering what I previously said) and say yes, I would sacrifice myself for the earth. Not so much for the earth and humanity, but for the one or two people I actually care about.
