Only two games have made me cry: FF7 (Obvious, I know), and Lost Odyssey. The game itself could have used some improvements but Shigematsu and Sakaguchi spun an absolutely beautiful, emotionally engrossing tale, the dream segments in particular.
It was all so powerful that I bought the game on release day to take my mind off of really troubling events at the time with what I thought was "an old-school experience", and had to put it on a year or so hiatus because every dream segment just tore me up every single time. I just couldn't do it, despite how engrossed I was otherwise. To this day when mortality scares me, I think of Kaim's struggles with being unable to die and it's strangely comforting.
