Bastion's ending when
you carry Zulf's body through the Ura soldiers.
It was so damn well presented and everything, I damn near cried. If my girlfriend hadn't been there, I probably would have. (she did cry). I would recommend that game to everybody for how to tell a story, even if you don't like the style of game.

What with all the ME3 being brought up I'm surprised nobody has said this yet.

I love this scene.

My Warden sacrificing herself at the end of DA. Alistair in tears at the funeral just broke me.

And of course ME3:
Mordin sacrificing himself
Thane's last prayer
Tali committing suicide

Rin's neutral end from KS hit me like a ton of bricks too, if you count VNs as gaming.

Fixed it for you. Yes, that moment was sad. For me, the final dialogue with Anderson was sadder.

I'd put this in spoilers, but the whole goddam thread is already spoiler ridden. Anyone whose made it this far down...

Dammit why do I always get curious and look at these saddest moment threads... they're always full of un-spoiler-tagged spoilers.

ON topic:

'Don't look honey'
'I love you dad'
'Look away'
That sounds familiar but I can't put my finger on it... what was that one from? (spoiler it if you want)

What scene? There are several sad ones.

But for me, it's "reunion scene" between Alice and Yuri in Shadow Hearts Covenant. It's one of the best JRPGs and one of the saddest moments in game ever.

ME3 is the first game to make me cry. And it happened several times, including the ending which I thought wasn't that bad.
Oh man, there's a TON of these in Mass Effect 3. Granted a lot of them happen if you fuck up somehow.

Fighting against Jack if you fail to save Grissom Academy in time

Fighting Morinth if you chose her over Samara in ME2

Watching the Quarians and the Geth essentially kill each other

Mordin dying

Legion Dying

Tali Dying

Reegar Dying

Thane

really anyone from the past games dying

Endings to both MGS3 and 4. Only games to ever make me cry. Otacon explaining to Sunny about Snake, Snake with the gun in his mouth. I was stunned when those voice actor credits showed up. CQC hug is the greatest moment ever.

I'm still not sure if it was worth the money, but Dear Esther was one of the saddest games I've played in a while. Once you figure out what everything means of course.

Saddest gaming moment for me was when I was watching any one of the major characters in ME3 die. Or what happened on Thessia.

Actually no, the ending was the saddest part.

I finished it last night.

Then I finished it three more times trying to find the good ending.

There weren't any good endings. They were all bad endings. And none of them made any sense at all and felt like they were part of a different game.

And Tali starved to death in a jungle.

And the whole Mass Effect setting as a concept got annihilated.

I felt like all my hopes and dreams had become personified and then brutally savagely murdered right in front of me in the most depraved and unnecessarily cruel ways possible.

I can't wait for the dlc where they fix it.

And I say fix because it is broken.
