Since i`m a fan of sr2 it was sad to see a watered down main character and the whole over the top sillyness in sr3. I had high hopes for it and they got smahed.

Other than that the recent was in RDR, it was perfectly fitting but sad.

What with all the ME3 being brought up I'm surprised nobody has said this yet.

I love this scene.
I felt like such a fucking asshole after witnessing what I had put in motion by siding with the geth (not enough paragon points).

After that I didn't even care about stopping the Reapers anymore, knowing I had just caused the extiction of the entire quarian race. And Tali's suicide was like the cherry on top of all that misery.

That was some heart wrenching stuff.

When I first tried the Death Knight class in Wrath of the Lich King, I came across a quest telling me to go and execute a captured Night Elf (I was playing a Night Elf Death Knight and therefore had to kill the Nigh Elf). WhenI got into the little house with all the prisoners, I walked up and out of nowhere the night elf told this story about the characters childhood and ho I used to be, which honestly made me cry. I seriously whished I could walk away, or let someone else do the job.
I actually had to take a 15 min break just to cry. I never cmpleeted the quest and shortly after I deleted the Death Knight, just because I looked at her as a heartless monster.

The moment I started playing the heavily censored (German) Version of Quake 4 (damn me for not informing myself and hoping after an uncensored Doom 3, that I might be lucky)

And, for real this time, the end of RDR
although the real ending made me happy again

Mafia 2
I hope for a Mafia 3 where they show me that that fucker is not dead after all

Plus:
That game here, or experience, or whatever, I liked it, and it touched me back in the days

Arkham City, the song during the credits.
I did not cry.
Walked out onto my balcony and just sat there for ages.
The emptiness just wouldn't go away.

Usually tragic sacrifices, like that Republic Trooper at the star of KoTOR, Captain Whatshisname.

Also deaths of beloved characters like Mordin in ME3.
Ah yes, that one. That is a particularly sad moment I was hoping to experience properly, rather than on an internet forum. Seriously, tag your spoilers.

The moment I realized that I actually paid for Deus Ex: Invisible War.
I actually think it's made sadder by the fact that it took me an hour to realize it wasn't worth the $2.50 I spent on it a year or so ago.

For a recent actual gaming moment though I'm going to say in Uncharted 3 when
you think Sully dies. Granted you realize shortly after that something really trippy is happening, but after having an entire game practically devoted to how awesome he was I fully expected something bad to happen and didn't even think he might not be dead because I was so consumed with a combination of grief and rage and a desire for sweet vengeance.

99% of the Mass Effect trilogy is my favourite franchise of all time.

That last 1%? Those endings?

Fuck man. People said they were bad, but I didn't believe them.

[HEADING=1]Why didn't I listen![/HEADING]
I know right I thought it was just the usual bluster but dear god are they awful.

That's exactly what I thought.

'People are just blowing things out of proportion, there's no way the endings are going to be that bad'

But they were. They were awful.

I get you're upset but this isn't really the thread for it.

For me, recently?
It was Thane's death scene in ME3. Then the whole fake one was Grunt in ME3 it was totally epic and then it was more epic again!
Hell yes. When people were dying left and right it was just that more epic that he didnt.

Infamous 2

Killing Zeke in the evil ending, I F-ing loved Zeke in that game, easily the best supporting character in that game and one of my favourite of all time, I would have preferred if he just shot Cole dead to be honest. what made it sad for me was that..

1. Zeke didn't distance himself from Cole in the evil campaign, they still had that bromantic night in front of the T.V
2. The sad music
3. How little effort it took to kill him, he was completely helpless.
4. He made the right decision even thought it meant standing up the Immensely powerful Cole

Zeke for president.

My most recent experience was the now "infamous" Mass Effect 3 ending...

I put a lot of time, money, DLC, emotion and Morality into the series...and what do I get.

ONE BIG FUCKED UP ENDING!
They really should of ended it with a bang (Not the three colored ending bangs at the ending of 3), like either with a happy ending (My preferred option), or a totally non expected, non bad way.

EDITED: Bioware better be pulling my damn chain and release DLC that make us happy again...or their rep will go down just like that ending.

Persona 4.

A lot of that was very sad, scary and emotional.
Too much to explain. :(
[small]Cant wait until Persona 5 now...[/small]

RDR takes the cake...
I just, I saw it coming and it still hit me like a fucking train. I adore that game
Yeeeeeeesssssss it was awful, but so fucking AWESOME at the same time. And made even more awesome by the epilogue. Hell.
I dont think there has been any game where I would have willingly shotgunned down a defenseless old woman (that old cocksuckers wife) and not felt very bad about it even if she had NOTHING to do with what had happened to "my" family.

Making the gamer feel that much hatred towards the villain is just fantastic storytelling. PROPS to Rockstar for it. And also, props to them for actually FINISHING the game and tying up loose ends in the process.

Half Life 2: Episode 2 end hit me again after I installed fakefactory and im usually pretty apathetic
Second
Cod4 MW end where that branch of the series should have ended - dead price, dead Gaz SOAP seems to take over SAS
Oh and Some Stuff in Majora's mask two examples being when you learn that lullaby from the old goron lost in the snow and another when you reunite a little girl with her semi mummified father.

"Why did it say 'she'?" "Because it was for you."

Thane and Mordin were my two favorite additions to the game in Mass Effect 2, and Thane tied with Garrus and Tali for top favorite, period. I got to witness both their deaths tonight. And tears were indeed shed- Mordin singing one last time, and the prayer for Shepard, those were what broke me.

I'm a bit dissapointed, no ones brought up Kingdom Hearts. losing Riku and Kari in the beginning of the first one, though it was just the start, that hurt me quite a bit.

ME3->
The eve before the battle at the Cerebus base. The last night with your love interest.
It was so sad I could hardly keep from crying.
Anderson sitting with Shepard, at the end. "Im proud of you, son."
