Side note, what is it with the Stargate writers and the odd obsession with killing doctors?
Because everyone likes the doctors.

BTW did you know there's an Escapist Stargate Fan group?
I do now, I suppose. Thanks for the tip. Still doesn't explain their odd fetish with killing them off, or trying to. Jackson, Frasier, Beckett, Rush, Weir...
You're now member #60. Report to the Chat section to receive a colour and a title.

As for killing people off. Let's just say they knew too much.

Herbie getting dumped over the side of a cruise ship into the ocean while honking helplessly.

I think it was in Herbie Goes Banana's.

The finale of Blackadder Goes Forth.

I hate you. Seriously.
There's something so harrowing about combining the humour Blackadder specialised in with tragedy. Weirdly, I think it's the presence of Darling that makes that final scene. I mean, he's a fairly minor character who is portrayed as a rival to Blackadder, I guess that's the effect certain death has on you.
Jurassic Bark of Futurama does a similar thing in terms of combining humour with tragedy, only nowhere near as expertly as Blackadder.
