Rochelle returned the book to her suitcase and said, "Yes, it's a little habit I've gotten into. I was into writing things off the top of my head when I started, and my mother took a look at a few of them. She suggested I write something each time we went somewhere away from home, and here I am." She ate a couple more grapes and started thinking to herself.

All right, Rochelle, you got what you wanted. Just you and Sven, alone in the room...

Nathan smiled at Lilith

"I've never met someone like you Lilith"

He caressed her face

"I'm sorry about...kissing you like that"

He coughed a bit, embarrassed about speaking so bluntly

Sven commented in between bites of his sandwich, "Well, judging from how far you are in the book, you must move around quite a bit. Not like me, who up until coming to St. Poemandre's had never even left the state of Minnesota for more than a day." He eventually finished his dinner and started booting up his laptop.

Rochelle shrugged and said, "My family goes on vacation almost every season. That's probably why the book's so full." She ate the last of her grapes and got up, stretched a little and returned to the kitchen. She dropped the stalk in a small bin and turned back to Sven, her thoughts from a few moments ago now firmly planted in her mind. Make your move, Rochelle. Sure, he may know about how you feel, but then, maybe he doesn't.

It's time to find out,
Rochelle decided. She walked over to Sven, who was now sitting on his own bed. "You don't mind if I sit next to you, do you?" she asked, a little nervous from thinking of what she was about to do.

"What do you mean "bad stalking"? came the voice from the shadows. "Your body shape is to artificial compared to the rest of the shadows in that area. As well as that your answering the question wasn't the best move ever."

There was silence in the room for a few seconds. "Ok then. I was planning to make this more dramatic but well..." With this the person stepped out of the shadows. "My name is Clarissa Devlin Von Klapp and I am here to make you an offer." With that she walked towards Alex. "You got your ass kicked out there so your angry. I am offering you the opportunity to change that. I am a vampire" she said with a flourish of her arm "and I will make you one so you can kick their ass. All that means is that you have too be my servant after it. What do you say?"

"Let me see you want to turn me into a vampire?" "Yes." "And pray tell are you a sired or a parental vampire?" "Parental three generations. Which means that when I sire you, you will have the powers to kick those other vampires easily." Alex just looked at her. "Ok... thanks for the offer but I'm going to have to turn you down. Could you do me a favour and help me out of the room? I fancy going to my room to recover." "Your saying no? To becoming a vampire? What are you crazy?" "Ok to answer those questions in order: yes, yes and probably. Now please give me a hand up." She offered him a hand and he pulled himself up. "Thank you now help me over to those shadows." "What?" "The shadows over there I can use them to get back to my room quickly." She helped him over to the shadows.

"Oh god I hate trying to do this." The world started spinning for a minute and then stopped as Alex flopped onto his bed. "Offers to become a vamp and a beating. Oh god what a bizarre evening." "If that was bizarre then what do you call the things currently giving me the evil eye?" Alex leapt back from the edge of his bed. "What the hell are you doing here?" "When you warped you brought me with you. But only vampires can shadow warp. So tell me sired or parental?" Clarissa just looked at him while the constructs stared at her. "Parental. First generation." "Only one generation no-wonder they kicked your ass." "No you misunderstand. The first generation."

"Sure, have a seat." Sven noticed some concealed nervousness in Rochelle's voice. "Is something wrong?" he asked, setting his laptop aside. His head was filling with thoughts of several different ways this conversation could play out, few of them pleasant. He dismissed them and listened intently to Rochelle.

"Don't be. It was good." See, this was much better than being nervous. He was being a bit un-Nathan-y, piling on the romantics wasn't something she figured Nathan would usually do, but she liked him better this way. He was a bit humble, handsome even, and she was moments away from a second kiss, and then a third and a fourth and, perhaps, countless more.

Lillith's tail wound up his legs, though not strongly enough to restrict Nathan's movement, eventually reaching a point where it was stroking rather than winding. She didn't even know why she had been so unwilling to do this before. The further they went into this, the less it felt strange to her.

She stopped for a moment as she felt Nathan's hand on the small of her back, just where the scales began to run narrow up her spine, and she could feel him pressing for her to move forwards... And she did, drawing herself further into the embrace until she was almost pressed against him and her eyes were locked onto his, her stare piercing his very being and starting to make him feel weak.

"There's no need to be so closed Nathan. You should open up to me..."

With this, and the spark of attraction that still shot between them, Lillith was sure that this was the right thing to do. She started to lead them into a new dance, with what little control she could, and she let a smile onto her face... No, maybe it wasn't a smile. This was greater than a vague happiness now. She pulled herself into another kiss, hoping that any trace of her tentativeness would just melt away.

As the kiss ended, with Lillith breathing deeply, she looked into his eyes. This was it... the succubus part of her came into play whether she wanted it or not. "So..." She said, letting her hands playfully wander to Nathan's chest and her lips to his ear. [small]"Am I going to be... your first, Nathan?"[/small]

A teensy bit of character control, but it allows me to get to the smex faster and it's basically exactly what you would have done anyway Quad. I don't think anyone (except Oneirius) will be complaining.

@Oneirius: Don't worry. If we even get that far it'll be a Fade in/Fade out dealio anyway. You can trust me. If this got locked I'd have to make one of my other characters even vaguely likable and insane to make up for the destruction of all the confusion and mess that is Lillith DeVtoe. =P

Rochelle sat down next to Sven, a little close to him, but not close enough to be uncomfortable. Or so she hoped. "Oh, no, nothing's wrong," she said as she extended her wings a few inches and settled them back into place.

Stop stalling! she told herself. You're going to have to tell Sven eventually, so why are you so afraid to do it?

With that thought in mind, she took a deep breath to calm her nerves, and said, "Actually, yes. There is something wrong. I have to talk to you about it."

Oh, this is just great. She's getting ready to drop a bombshell. What's it gonna be? Sven again had several different nightmare scenarios running through his head, and again he had to work to force them out of his head so Rochelle wouldn't be any more uncomfortable than she already was. Of course, his own discomfort was growing as Rochelle drew closer to him, but he tried to hide it as best he could. Sven just reassured her, "I'm listening."

"All right." Rochelle took another breath, closed her eyes for the briefest of moments, and said, "Sven, I -" She stopped, though not of her own free will. Why aren't you speaking? Why can't you tell him? She tried again. "I wanted to tell you -" Mother of Angels, girl! Do it! she ordered herself, her face growing redder from self-embarrassment.

Rochelle closed her eyes again and rubbed her forehead with one hand for a second, then looked at Sven. "You may have picked this up already, but I want to say it aloud. Just so I can be sure of it. Sven... I'm pretty sure I have a crush on you." She instantly looked away, her usually pale face a crimson red from her blushing.

Nathan couldn't help but chuckle slightly at Lilith's sudden advance

"Well now, you're moving fast"

He whispered back to her, while his hand on her waist tightened slightly and his eyes looked down to meet hers. There was so much in them, but there were also barriers and protections up.

It seemed like they both had things they wanted to hide from the outside world...

This was a time of happiness though. The wounds of the past could be opened another time and with that thought in mind, he moved closer to her, another playful grin on his face and stroked her hair slowly.

Sven breathed a sigh of relief which almost turned to laughter. She wasn't exactly subtle about it before, why would she be so nervous about admitting it face-to-face? However, it began to dawn on him that he wasn't sure how he felt about Rochelle. Granted, he did like her, but the question was did he like her as a friend or as a potential girlfriend? He wished she hadn't told him about her crush, at least not this soon in the school year.

It took a few seconds for Sven to realize Rochelle was now looking back at him and hanging on his next words. You better be very, very careful about this, he thought, trying to figure out a way to slow down this possible relationship. ?Yeah, I did pick that up earlier, but as I said before, I have a few things that need straightening out up here before I can even think about pursuing a relationship.?

Now here is another interesting question! How sharp is your sense of smell in human form? If it's good enough to smell pheromones/hormones/detect emotional processes, and if we assume the physiology of angles is at least somewhat similar to human, that could make the whole situation VERY interesting.(not to mention awkward)

Please tell me more about your vision of angles in the game world.

I don't really know how to describe the way I perceive angels... just that they don't originate from heaven. I know that much. Maybe they're a deviant strain of humans, maybe they're a separate race entirely, who knows?

"I understand. I can wait for you if you're not ready," Rochelle answered, appearing to be perfectly casual now that she had admitted her feelings for Sven. "You just let me know when you change your mind, alright?" She got up and walked back to her own bed, extended the divider to give herself a little privacy and sat down, her head in her hands in a melange of confusion, apprehension and countless other emotions.

Well, you've done it now, Rochelle. Gone and thrown it out there. Now what in the name of everything you hold dear do you do?

I'm thinking that Sven's senses would be about the equivalent of a very good human's in terms of hearing and smell. I don't know what that would mean in terms of what you're asking, though.

Sven breathed a small sigh of relief that Rochelle wasn't going to press further until he was ready for it. Still, he couldn't help but think he'd somehow hurt her feelings. Just give her a little space, let her recover a little. Sven woke up his laptop, plugged his headphones into the jack, and loaded one of his Beatles CD's into the drive.

After a few minutes of thinking about what she should do next concerning Sven, Rochelle decided to just be as casual as she could, as if she hadn't said anything. She checked the time; it was getting a little late. Rochelle turned on a bedside light, changed into sleepwear and quickly got into bed, adjusting her wings underneath her. She rolled over on to her side, and looked at the medium-sized, slightly battered book on her bedside table. It was a collection of Shakespeare's works.

Rochelle reached out, grabbed the book and opened it to the play she had been reading for the past few days. She carefully turned a few pages and found the monologue she was halfway through, then realised what the speaker was talking about. She hurriedly closed the book and returned it to her table, flicked the light off and closed her eyes.

As Sven was listening to "Yellow Submarine," Sven thought about what he was going to do about Rochelle. She seems nice. Then again, a lot of people seem nice when you first meet them. Still, I should give her a chance. Sven felt his eyes get incredibly heavy and decided it was time to get some sleep for the first time in a couple of days. He shut down the computer, turned off the lights, set his alarm clock for relatively early, and went to sleep.

Fast didn't even describe how incredibly quick this was going for Lillith. But it was working, and she liked it more and more with each passing second. And then she wondered how could she enjoy it more.

She softly pulled his hand from her hair and slipped from his embrace whilst whispering a final message to him. "Come to my room in 30 minutes..." She kissed him again before making a small retreat, "I'll be waiting Nathan."

Sure that he would follow soon, she made her way back to the dorm. She had to make sure this went off perfectly and she had half an hour to do it all in.

I wonder what Nathan's going to do during this little intermission.

Soon after Sven turned the lights off, Rochelle's eyes opened. Wide awake, she lay immobile, staring at the ceiling. Little shiny lights flickered across the wall in front of her; the moonlight was reflecting off her hair. She tried to get to sleep, but couldn't; she was thinking too much. Instead she began to imagine soft, relaxing music playing in her mind, hoping it would help.

After what felt like hours lying in bed awake, Rochelle began to feel tired, and closed her eyes. She fell asleep soon afterwards.
