When Kohana regained her senses, she could feel someone cleaning out her face with cold water. She tried to immediate raise herself to an upright position, but was instantly send back, by the pain that hit her numb body like a wall. The Medic and his assistant started talking to her, in their fast, hard language. It took Kohana considerable concentration, to force herself to remember the correct words to use.
"My bag. The upper right slot. Give me what's in there." Despite her voice being weakened and shaky, she finally managed to make herself understood, and the Medic's assistant hurried off, only to return moments later, with two small boxes. One of which contained a number off small, wet cushions, two of which she pressed against her open eyes, gasping sharply for air, as the familiar, ice-cold sting added to the concert of pain inside her head. After securing the two cushions with her blindfold, it took Kohana five attempts to go through the correct procedure of handsigns to release the healing process, her fingers still stiff, and the painful distraction plentifully available.
Only after going through the procedure a sixth, succesful time, she could finally grab into the other box, chewing down a handful of the leaves that were contained inside. The poison worked almost instantly, neurotoxins overflowing her body, temporarily numbing most of the nerves in her head, capable of transmitting pain.
She remained like this a few seconds, relaxing mind and body alike, before finally standing up, walking in the direction where she could hear jeffrey speaking to a crewmember, her movement stiff, now using her flute as a blindstick to anticipate obstacles.
"How... how long have I been...?"
all the while, somewhere on the ship, the beasts roaring continued.
