Sven held up his map and cheerfully proclaimed, "Well, I remembered mine this time, so finding our way around won't be too much of a problem. Besides, the door's pretty hard to miss." The elevator still hadn't arrived, and Sven was starting to become annoyed. Why is this elevator taking so long? To help kill some more time, he asked, "So, how was your morning?"

"Well... it was interesting to say the least," Rochelle answered. "I stretched my wings a little in a flight over the school, literally ran into some guy and returned his book after he left it behind, met up with Lillith and hung out with her for a while, and then she went off looking for Nathan. Seems to me they'd had a falling out last night. Oh, and a guy caused a small explosion in one of the classrooms, I think it was some sort of potion accident. Turns out he was the same guy who crashed into me."

"Well, at least your day's been interesting," Sven responded. "Other than watching a kid get blown across the library, my day's been pretty dull."

As soon as Sven finished talking, a small chime indicated the elevator had arrived. The doors opened about a second later, and other than a couple of dwarves (one of whom Sven recognized from the party) the massive elevator was completely empty. The werewolf stepped inside and pressed the button he figured would take him to the ground floor.

Rochelle hurried into the elevator after Sven, not wanting to be left behind when the door closed. "Really? So you just hung around in the library most of the morning?" she asked, leaning on the wall opposite her friend. "Wait. Why did he get blown across the room? Is that something to do with why you mentioned restricted books earlier?"

Lillith felt like her thoughts were just going around in circles. She was sure of something but then she had to question it again 'just to be sure' even though she was already trying to convince herself of how sure she was. If she didn't stop going in circles soon she'd just be all tangled up and even more confused than normal.

She couldn't bring herself to admit that she needed help with this too. It was bad enough that she was already relying on people to help her with her first problem, drawing them into a second would make her feel as though she was just being a burden to them...

Even her feelings about her feelings were cyclic. She felt like she was being a burden so then she refused to tell anyone which made her more upset which ended up aggravating her problems and her worries. So then she felt like she needed more help but then she felt like even more of a burden... It was the point at which she would finally wonder where the end of it all would be.

Even though she'd convinced herself that Nathan wasn't going to speak to her and that she didn't want to speak to him once before she was still thinking about it all. She wasn't good at deciding things.

*knock knock* Her no doubt endlessly continuing thoughts had been interrupted by several knocks on her door. She looked up to the door and, after another knock, stood up and slithered over.

Opening the door she was staring at a thinly built witch with a traditionally pointy hat, high brimmed cloak and a not-so-traditional tatty satchel at her side, "I thought... This isn't..." The girl looked back for a second before looking back, "Sorry... I think I got the wrong room. You don't know where Ashley Reynolds' room is, do you?"

"No, but I could help you find it if you want." I probably need a distraction for a while anyway.

"Yeah, I guess I lost track of time while I was in there," Sven admitted as he watched the floor indicator. "And I admit I don't know the whole story behind that incident, but from what I did see it was a fair assumption to make. Though I'd imagine they wouldn't have anything too dangerous just laying around where any idiot can get their hands on it, right?"

"Oh, probably," Rochelle answered. "They should keep the more lethal stuff under some form of security to prevent such things from happening in the first place." She tried to think of something else to pass the time while they waited for the elevator to get down to the floor they wanted. Unfortunately, she had nothing at the time. At least, nothing she wanted to talk about.

As soon as Rochelle finished talking, Sven realized he didn't have anything else he wanted to say, and judging by Rochelle's silence, neither did she. Fortunately, it was only a few seconds before there was another chime and the elevator doors opened. Sven commented, "That was quick," and proceeded in the general direction of the library, hoping to make it without having to use his map.

Rochelle nodded in agreement and followed Sven out of the elevator, a little distant from him as they walked down the hall. The silence they shared unnerved her a little. Perhaps it was a little more awkward between them than she had guessed. That might change after a couple of days, a week tops, and then they could go back to being friends the way they were before Rochelle made an idiot out of herself. She could only hope that that was the case.

Lillith thought they should go check the student roster down on the bottom floor of the dorms. Ashley was probably going to be on there somewhere, so it was the best place to start. She led the witch away from her room, making sure to lock and hex the door behind her as she went.

They talked on the way, introducing themselves. The witch, who Lillith had learned was named Daniella, had come to Poemandres before the zeppelin arrived. Apparently she was already a fairly accomplished mage but was required to be taught and tested at a school rather than her own home to be allowed to practice magic professionally.

"So you learned from home?" Lillith asked with a genuine interest.

"Yeh," Daniella nodded, "My parents run a small-time magical bookstore so they had loads of free time to teach me some basic magic. And then I learned the rest from the books we kept in storage."

"That's pretty good."

"Yeh it is..." Lillith thought that Daniella was thinking for a second, "So what do your parents do?"

"My parents?" Lillith looked down slightly, trying her best to adopt a pained expression. "I... don't really have any parents." It was best to pick something like this that would force Daniella to shy away from further forays into Lillith's past.

"Oh, I'm... Sorry. I didn't mean to..." The guilt on Daniella's face was obvious. While Lillith didn't want too many questions about herself, she didn't want to make people upset with themselves either.

"No, no... It's fine. You couldn't know."

A moment's silence passed, most probably because Daniella was too afraid to ask anything else in case of 'upsetting' Lillith further. Lillith herself was forced to try and lift the mood. "So..." She said once another moment had passed, "Who's Ashley?"

Daniella seemed to stammer and covered her face with the brim of her hat, "J-just someone I met on my way here." Lillith assumed nothing but wondered silently why the witch had stammered. "At first I was okay with sharing a room but my roommate turned out to be a bit of a dick. And since we still have a bit of time left to switch our rooms around I'm gonna see if I can move in before someone else does."

By the time Daniella had finished speaking they had reached the elevator and Lillith had pushed the button to call it.

Jeffery navigated his way through the near endless shelves of the library to come across the arcane section, pausing for a moment to get another glance at the book he was denied from opening several minutes ago. He quickly returned his attention to the gathering of shelves each of them decorated with intricate carvings of various things Jeffery paid no attention to, he casually strode in and started walking up and down the isles looking for a book that sounded like it had anything to do with incantations that could cure or at least alleviate pain, finally settling on a thick book labelled 'incantations for the body' and taking it out to one of the many reading tables situated just outside the arcane section

Jeffery dropped the book letting it hit the desk with a loud thud that echoed through the library, Jeffery sat down and started flicking through the pages scanning each of them for anything marginally useful.

"I can summon the elements, manipulate nature and do things most people dream of but when it comes to pain and any way of curing it, I`m as useless as a wet tissue, just shows how much studying I still have to do..." Jeffery muttered to himself as he silently flicked through the pages of his book.

*Seppuku* I'm *cough* sorry Rain. *Dead*

After finally reaching the top of the (very tall) tower, Chaz looked out from the balcony and towards the campus. Somehow it looked much different than before while still looking exactly the same. "Uh, never mind, I guess... At least no one's up here," he said looking around. "It's a very nice place."

Once off the elevator, it didn't take long for Sven to find the library; only a couple of minutes had passed before he saw the sign about being quiet. "And here we are," he told his roommate as he opened the door. "Can you see why I spent so much time here?"

Rochelle stepped into the library and looked around the place, drinking in the scene. "Yeah... yeah, I can guess that much," she murmured in answer, walking around the small gap of space near the door and the checkout desk. She rested a hand on one of the nearby shelves, reading the list of categories into which the books were ordered. That particular shelf contained the subject of Creation Magic and its subsets.

"Wow... how long do you think it would take to fully explore this place?" she asked Sven as she walked back to him.

"I'd say two years is a good estimate, and that's if you're not trying to remember where everything is," Sven responded as he made his way to the front desk. The orc who was working there earlier was nowhere to be found, though, and he didn't leave a replacement; all Sven found was a bell with a sign that read Ring for Service. He tapped the bell a couple of times and sat at a nearby table, silently wondering how long it was going to take for someone to get to him.

Catalina sighed and looked out over the campus and noticed the column of smoke but shrugged and sat down and let her legs dangle down over the ladder. She looked out over the campus again before looking back at Chaz and motioning for him to sit as well.

"The view is nice though... I wonder if there are any stars here at night?"

Catalina nodded before resting her head on Chaz's shoulder, her eyes looking over the landscape and watching people scurry around. She sighed and looked up to Chaz, "so, what do we do now?"
