Rochelle looked up at Lillith and gave her a brief smile. "Of course I'm okay. Do I really need a reason to lie down?" After a short pause, she added, "I suppose I could list a couple. It's a nice day, and it's comfortable down here... and above all, why not?" She grinned at that, and laid back down, noticing the ominous-ish cloud of black smoke at the other end of the courtyard with raised eyebrows.

Jeffery tried repeatedly to relax, the smoke drifting over his eyes and making it difficult, Jeffery lay there for five more minutes before shooting upwards and jumping off the bench into a standing position.

"alright, that smoke is starting to piss me off" Jeffery commented walking over to the nearby building to tell whoever is brewing the potion to either stop screwing up, or to close the window.

stepping inside the somewhat new looking building Jeffery guessed it was a set of classrooms, the sound of silence filling the halls Jeffery started walking around looking for a set of stairs or something leading up to the second story, his feet echoing against the hard floor.

Jeffery eventually found a flight of stairs leading upward quickly ascending them and looking around for the entrance to the room the smoke came from.

"alright it was out of a window so that`s a start, still might be a bit befo-" Jeffery immediately stopped his train of thought when he felt a warm sensation at the base of his leg, he looked down and saw the same kind of smoke from earlier pooling around him, following the trail of smoke to a nearby door.

"well that was easy" Jeffery said walking over to the door and banging his fist on it a couple of times "hey, close the damn window your letting smoke out" Jeffery pressed his ear against the door hoping to hear the sound of a window being closed but hearing nothing but the continued bubbling of the cauldron knocked again "you alright?, if you don`t answer in three seconds I`m coming in, one....two....three" Jeffery pressed his ear against the door again hearing no voices "alright, I warned you" Jeffery placed his hand on the door handle and muttered a quick unlocking spell before opening the door his face greeted by a large cloud of smoke.

Jeffery coughed a few times before putting his glasses on and stepping inside his foot crunching against a combination of loose papers and scraps of potion ingredients "damn looks like a bomb went off in here" Jeffery mused walking over to the window and closing it breathing a sigh of relief as he turned around only to see the cauldron bubbling faster and faster, whatever was inside bubbling over the edges, Jeffery walked over and stared into the cauldron the potion inside a red substance that was becoming more violent with each passing minute.

"I have no idea who`s brewing this but they have turned....something, into the equivalent of dragon's piss" Jeffery leaned forward to get a quick smell of the potion, his foot accidentally stepping on the gas pedal adding more fuel to the fire sending the potion over the edge, the cauldron rocked back and forth for a few seconds before the concoction exploded outwards sending Jeffery backwards and into the window the cheap lock breaking with a loud snap causing him to fall outwards onto the veranda hanging over the walkway surrounding the building

Jeffery rolled forward on the slanted veranda before falling off onto the ground below his body landing on the soft grass of the courtyard to the gasps and shouts of fellow students, some moving on, others stopping to stare.

"nothing to see here people, move along, just a guy falling backwards out of a second story window" Jeffery groaned getting to his feet and dusting himself off. His head pounding and ears ringing slightly Jeffery started the walk back to his dorm room, hoping to just lie down.

Lillith looked over to the clouds of darkening smoke and, deciding that it was probably safer to stay away from it than figure out what was causing it, settled down next to Rochelle.

She laid down, crossed her arms behind her head and looked up into the sky, roughly emulating the way Rochelle was. She admitted that it was nice, in a not bothering kind of way, and it was pretty comfortable too, in that vague way grass was. It was actually more relaxing than she'd thought it might be. A few seconds passed by in silence.

Suddenly an explosion rang out throughout the area, causing Lillith to sit up and swear inaudibly, and bits of a room started raining lightly down upon the area where the explosion had happened. Pieces of wooden floorboard and parchment were seen fluttering around in the sky for a second before being reeled back to solid ground.

A small group of imps, probably in the employ of the school to clean up after such incidents judging by the cleaning implements they were carrying with them, flew past with several mutterings about whomever had caused the explosion. [small]"Probably some hotshot new kid with more ego than brains. Hate the new ones." "Little brats show up after a day and think they can blow everything up without any consequences. Punks have what's coming to them if you ask me." "We'll probably have to sweep him up though. Messy work with that smoke." "Don't even get me started about the smoke! If it was a powerful potion it could be hanging around for weeks!"[/small] They continued to talk among themselves as they flew past and then away toward the site.

After he left the library, Sven thought about trying to find his classrooms without a map, only to realize he'd also left his class schedule in his room. Deciding he didn't want to chance running into Rochelle just yet, he figured he might as well try to find the couple of rooms he remembered off the top of his head. As he walked, he continued to feel as if somebody was following him, watching him, but he never saw anything out of the ordinary. (Well, more out of the ordinary than usual, anyway.) Sven began to question whether he was just paranoid and decided to just head back to his room anyways, and if Rochelle was there, he'd deal with their problems then.

As the werewolf passed the main entrance, Sven glanced out of a window, hoping to see Rochelle outside so he wouldd have the room to himself for a little while. Instead, he saw the same kid who got punted by a teacher in the library falling to the ground. Sven was going to move on, but something made him keep watching, partly to see if he was all right but mostly to see how he got into this mess. The student answered his first question almost immediately when he got up, dusted himself off, and walked towards the dorms. Sven slowly moved away from the window to avoid getting caught and hoped the rest of his trip to the room would be somewhat uneventful.

"The heck was that?" Rochelle asked no-one in particular, sitting up and looking around at the mess that had just been created. She thought she caught a glimpse of the guy from earlier, the one who had bumped into her and ran away, getting to his feet. By the time she had gotten up to investigate further, the guy was gone.

"Maybe we should find somewhere else to be, Lilli," Rochelle said quietly. "If one of the staff members turns up to take a look at this, they might jump to conclusions and think we did it."

Jeffery started staggering slowly away from the explosion site, students getting out of his way, amazed he was able to simply get up and walk away from falling out of the window, to tell the truth, Jeffery was a little amazed himself the pain slowly started settling in moving from his head to his other limbs. Still with his blurry vision Jeff was able to make out two figures in the distance upon getting closer he realized it was Rochelle and that lamia from earlier he slowly passed them by, still staggering slightly

"I swear to god if I find the guy who made that piece of crap I`m gonna burn him alive" Jeffery muttered as he passed by Rochelle and the lamia blinking his eyes rapidly trying to return his vision to normal.

"Y-yeh, good point..." She nodded slightly before following Rochelle away to another place. She didn't care where they went, just that they weren't still here when any important staff members showed up.

Before they got too far they saw Jeffery. He was covered in soot, his clothes were ruined, he was limping and -for some reason she couldn't understand- was complaining about someone else. It didn't take much for Lillith put these together. The explosion was obviously his work. Staying too close to him would be the exact opposite of trying not to get into trouble, "Come on 'Chelle. We'd better hurry up."

"Agreed," Rochelle answered, moving through the halls. Not quickly enough to attract attention, but fast enough to get away from the scene. She led Lillith out to the school's front gardens to put the two of them completely out of the area; navigating the halls took a couple of minutes. Rochelle leaned against the wall near the huge double doors into the hallways, and asked, "So what do you think's gonna happen now? I mean, that guy definitely caused the explosion. No doubt about that."

Jeffery continued walking his body aching in pain as he saw a wooden seat and practically fell into it, breathing heavily and gritting his teeth in pain as he adjusted his position on the chair.

"well, walking back does`nt seem like it`s gonna happen, time to break out the teleportation spell" Jeffery groaned reaching into his jacket pocket and taking out his spellbook the cover slightly damaged but not damaged further than that, Jeffery flicked to the page with the spell listed.

"alright get a mental image of where you wanna teleport and go" Jeffery started picturing the bed in his dorm room trying to get as clear a picture as possible before opening his eyes to his spellbook and muttering the incantation.

"mervosa viderum" Jeffery barely managed to mutter and in a blast of smoke Jeff disappeared from the chair he was sitting in and through a flash of white light ended up landing on his bed, his back hitting the pile of books stacked on top of it, a loud groan of pain shot forth from his lips as he rolled off the stack of books and onto the comfort of his bed.

"and so begins my quest at this school to open the book in the library and find the asshat who made the potion....this is gonna be a good year" Jeffery said to himself as he lay motionless on his bed, the pain too severe for him to fall asleep.

Lillith took up a place on the other side of the doors, close enough to be able to speak without raising her voice but far enough to keep her subtle expression changes secret. In all honesty she didn't know what might happen to the boy. She'd done far worse and been allowed to still attend a school so she didn't think much would happen to him. He might not even get punished.

"They'll probably just make sure the potion didn't do any permanent damage to anyone... then..." At this Lillith thought to check herself for anything peculiar. For all she knew the explosion could have been deliberate to spread something. She thought for a moment she could feel her tail squirming slightly but, upon inspection, decided it was nothing. She wasn't completely convinced but would have to check in greater detail later.

"You didn't get any of the smoke or soot on you, right?"

Rochelle quickly gave herself a once-over at Lillith's question. She stretched her wings out a foot or so and shook them out to remove any trace of soot. Nothing was shaken off, except a loose feather. "Um, no, I don't think so," she answered. "I guess we might have been lucky in that respect. Who knows what that blast could have spread. Nothing lethal, I should think. They wouldn't allow people to create deadly weapons or anything, right?"

She realised she was talking too much, and not giving her friend any time to respond, so she fell silent. Rochelle made a mental note to find a way to stop doing that.

She shrugged slightly. "I wouldn't think so. Even if they did I don't think a student could. There'd probably be a bunch of hexes to learn by rote and ingredients to gather and prepare. I don't think we have to worry too much about it being a weapon."

"It might of been his first potion. Something always goes wrong with the first one." At that point she recalled her own disastrous choice of potion. Hers hadn't exploded quite as violently but the effects were... snotty, to say the least.

After so long, Lillith figured that Nathan must have gone back to his room by now. Her mind had kept wandering back to him, bit by bit. Maybe she should check up on him...? She didn't really want to go too far with him but not being friends over something so stupid seemed childish... Of course, Nathan was pretty childish in general. He might just ignore her out of spite.

Rochelle chuckled, but said, "I wouldn't know. I never really got into the whole potion-making thing before I moved here. My parents were more oriented towards the spells, charms and curses that magic can provide. They say I inherited a little of their magical skill when I was born, but I don't know much about the arcane arts. I never took any classes before coming to this school, but I think I've been enrolled in a couple."

She looked down, her face going red. She'd not even noticed that Rochelle had been speaking. Her thoughts had just gone back to Nathan and... She sighed. He'd put himself out there, with the kiss and the things he had said, and she had pretty much thrown it back in his face. He had every right to ignore her...

When she finally did realise that Rochelle had been speaking she could only guess.

"Yeh, well, um..." She didn't guess well. "I think... I need to go do something 'Chelle. Do you mind...?"

Happy birthday! According to your profile, you're 17, right?

Rochelle blinked. Something was preoccupying Lilli, distracting her from the conversation. "Are you going to go and look for Nathan?" she asked. "If you need to patch things up with him, don't let me stop you. Of course, I still need to talk to Sven, but I can do that later." She laid a hand on her friend's shoulder, and gently added, "And hey, if it doesn't work out the way you want, I'm here if you need me."

Happy 17th Oneirius!

"Okay... Thanks." With a faint nod Lillith started to slither away towards the dorm and left Rochelle to her own devices. Lillith hadn't seen Nathan at all since he slammed her door and no-one else seemed to have seen him walking around either. The only real possibility left was that he was in his room, ignoring everyone.

If that was the case, he was probably taking what she said pretty badly. She hadn't intended for it to hurt. If anything she said it to stop him getting hurt.

She decided it would be best to speak to him, even if she had to do so through his door. She'd tell him about the instincts and if he still ignored her, that would have to be that. She'd have to accept it, move on and forget about trying to be his friend.

Once Lillith had vanished from Rochelle's sight, the young angel began wandering the halls for a while, wondering what to do to pass the time. Finding something at least halfway decent for lunch was an option; Rochelle disapproved of cafeterias. With that in mind she headed back out to the front gardens, hoping for a small section of wild forest where she could find something growing from a bush. She didn't want to go back to the dorm yet in case she ran into Sven.

It wasn't a long journey back to the dorms but her thoughts made the distance to the door that much greater. Lillith was afraid that she might manage to make things worse if she talked to Nathan now.

There were so many things to think about. She had to find a way to tell Nathan that she still liked him, and that there might be the possibility for a relationship at some point, but that she wasn't looking for anything like it yet. And she had to tell him that without making him feel like he was misreading her intentions because he hadn't been at all. If anything he had been reading them too well...

Look, Nath, I do like you and I really like that you like me too but... No, no, that won't work... She was practicing in her head, trying to make sense of her words before she had to make them count. Nathan, about last night... I wasn't really myself... No! That's stupid, Lillith. You have to make him feel like you're still sort of interested in him...

How the hell was she meant to make him think that? She was a succubus; she didn't do 'sort of interested'. Her entire species was about fucking and forgetting. 'Sort of interested' didn't include either of those things.

Hey, Nathan, if you stop being mad with me I'll let you - She stopped that thought, despite how much she expected it to work. Just deflecting the problem for a while would get her nowhere.

And now, here she was at Room 353. Nathan's room. If he wasn't here, he wouldn't be anywhere.

A few moments of silence passed by. This was one of the only times when Lillith had to mentally prepare herself for anything less than magic. Come on... If you can't talk to him now, are you ever going to be able to face him later? He deserves to know why you were acting like that. You don't need to tell him about anything personal, just stuff any book of monsters would tell him...

She took a deep breath and then knocked on the door. "Nathan? Are you in there...?"

...

"I know you probably don't want to talk to me right now. You probably kinda hate me but... I kinda hate myself right now too. If... you could... [small]open the door?[/small]"

Right now would be a really, really good time for Quad to show up. The timing would be amazing.
