[small]"...This is my loyal Vice Principle,
Mr Xomdixgor Deeps the demon,
and my Virtue Principle, Mr Wells
the angel and..." After he had said
this, Mister Oneirius went back to
saying many things that made
little to no sense to anyone,
including the teachers.
[/small]
Lillith looked down to the podium, half-bemused at the short stature of their headmaster's avatar. Surely if you could use magic to create or control anything to communicate with others, you would make it something incredible. She imagined for a second what she would use. Perhaps make herself from water or fire, and talk through that to others? Oh, the fun she could have! Maybe she could mess around with her timetable to get Magic: Manipulation as a subject.

As Oneirius reached the mid-point of his speech, he chuckled and clapped, a large explosion waking all of those minds that had wandered. "Ah shit! My head feels like it just ripped apart!" Lillith clasped her hands to her ears, attempting to make the ringing stop, and she could see Sven, Rochelle and various other students all around the hall dealing with it in their own ways.

"As you are doubtlessly all aware," he continued to say, as though nothing had happened, "lessons have been canceled indefinitely. While we suggest you use this time preciously, making sure your timetables and lessons are correct, there shall be a social event of sorts for those who wish to go to it. Tomorrow night. The lake on school grounds. Smart casual, of course." A few students almost seemed to like the news, though Lillith felt there would be a catch or two. There always was with these school sanctioned events. No alcohol. No partying. No music. No fun at all.

She had to get out of here... This speech was literally boring a hole through her brain (or maybe it was that explosion...) Either way she unwrapped her tail from the seat and softly ran it past Rochelle's legs, making sure she would feel it, and then Sven's. "Guys... Do you think we'll be able to make a break for it?" she whispered quietly, making sure no teachers nearby could hear her.

You can edit your post to include some updated things Oneirius.

"...This is my loyal Vice Principle, Mr Xomdixgor Deeps the demon, and my Virtue Principle, Mr Wells the angle..."

He goes on and on and on. Feel free to add more amusing lines to this endless speech. By the way, yes, there IS actually a virtue principle at the school. I mean, there is a vice principle. It only makes sense.

Edit: never mind. A few have posted before me.

Sven's ears were ringing from whatever spell the headmaster had cast. Shifting between human and wolfman form didn't help at all. He looked around and saw that almost everyone, including Lillith and even Mark in the back, was suffering similar problems. Hot damn, does he really think that's going to help his speech be tolerable? However, when Lillith asked if he wanted to sneak off, he wasn't taking any chances. "I don't want to find out if he's got any more nasty spells up his sleeve. Besides, somebody probably needs to stay, just in case he says something that we might actually need to know."

Ha ha, very funny, Oneirius.

Nathan made his way through the empty hallways. He had heard the loud bang not long after he had left which made him slightly curious about what was going on but he kept going. He was sure that person had also skipped out as well

"Hello Nathan"

Nathan turned slowly and faced a blonde haired blue eyed boy standing behind him, a nasty smile on his face

"Lots of nasty protect spells here. How'd you get in?"

Laughing the boy patted Nathan on the shoulder

"I'm out of there league Nathan. You know that"

Leaning against a nearby wall, Nathan cocked his head to the side

"Alright then. What do you need of me? Why are you here"

Hearing the first parts of the speech emanate around the room, Dillon turned to Carolina and Sam.
"We'd better hurry." he said, his eyes searching the room for a suitable place for them to sit down. "Where do ye want to sit?"

Sam answered Dillan's question by leaning against the wall.
"Just lean, last in. First out." he said simply

Carolina slid down the wall to the floor and pulled her legs up to her chest. ?Sounds good to me,? she said stifling a yawn as she laid her head against her knees, her eyes threatening to close. ?Hey Max, rough night I take it?? she asked, her voice muffled from her legs. ?Stay awake, you can sleep later,? she thought, chastising herself for acting as if she hadn?t had sleep in days.

"The roughest, but all the better for seeing you sweetheart." he said with a warm smile. His eyes tried to focus on the avatar on the stage but his head kept nodding off in disagreement, a searing pain shooting through his head.

Remembering suddenly, he gave out a small laugh and turned to her. "Hey, I noticed a swell place for a party from my window somewhere in the forest. Big huge clearing, slap bang right in the middle. Party, tomorrow at midnight till whenever. Think it'll be a good chance to get to know everyone a little better. What you say? You in?"

He focused on her, bleary eyed and in tremendous pain. He couldn't wait to get back to his dorm and sleep until his meeting with the Professor.

Carolina?s lips pursed as he used a pet name but she held her tongue, not wanting to draw attention to herself. ?Yah, I think you were telling me about that earlier. Sounds like fun to me. You don?t mind if I invite a couple of people do you? It won?t be many seeing that I just got here and all,? she said smiling. She was excited she was invited, at her other schools she kept to herself a lot and she never had the chance to go to parties besides the dinner ones her parents threw.

She looked back over at Max, his eyes similar to the ones? her father got after a night with his co-workers when they went out drinking. ?You sure you?re okay? No offense, but you look like you were ran over with a train,? she said with a small chuckle, ?not that I can talk.?

"The more the merrier! No point in any of us being strangers right? I got word round before, the whole school is pracitcally invited.". He smiled and gave off a large whooping cough that earned him a shhhh from the dissaproving teacher across the room. He sighed deeply and shut his eyes, resting his head against the wall.

"You concern is touching sweetheart, it really is, but I'm okay. Just yano...bit on the hairy side this morning." he laughed, trying to hide the jitters that were causing him to quake all over. "Come tomorrow, I'll be rested and ready for action! You'll pass word on, won't you?" he said, looking hopefully into her eyes.

Carolina gave him a reassuring smile, ?Party tomorrow at midnight in the forest clearing. Got it. Hopefully none of the teacher?s catches a hold of it though. Then it is going to end up being some sort of a joke. But I will keep spreading the word. No worries in fact,? she said looking up at Dillon, ?You want to go with me? I?m sure it?ll be fun,? she said grinning, hoping that it would make up for what the mishap the previous night, which she still had to clear up. Gosh, I really hope he doesn?t go around telling everyone, I mean, he still hanging out here so it can?t be to impeding to him, right?

"Have you found that person yet? We know they're at the school. It is part of your contract that you handle jobs like this for us"

"I know my duties"

Nathan snapped back, looking up and down the hallway to ensure no one else was watching

"I'm trying. But I need a list...and you have the skills to get it for me and it will greatly help me in my search"

The blonde eyed boy nodded

"I'm listening..."

Rochelle's head snapped back as the headmaster's spell took effect. She blacked out for a few moments, then woke a few seconds later as Sven whispered, "...actually need to know." She closed her eyes in concentration and buried her face in her hands, trying to kill the after-effect headache.

"Ow... my head..." she muttered, her voice muffled by her hands.

Sam stepped over to Max, "You alright mate? you seem a bit you know not-high." he said in a shushed voice. "Max, Maaaax."
Sam clicked his fingers beside the centaur's head,
"I think we had better get you to a bed." Sam put the centaurs sholders around his and went to walk out off the door.
"Hey," a teacher about stopped them, she was two foot tall and incredibly wirey, "where do you thing your going!"

"He is not well miss, I'm going to take him to his room" Sam told her whilst stepping over the little teacher, and pushing out the door.
He lent Max against a wall, "Dude, you okay?"

"...We are almost done, don't go anywhere. I just wanted to remind you one more time before I leave you on your own of the party that will take place very soon! Don't be late, because you will be very sorry for every moment you miss. We are going to have some very nice food, competitions, and music. Also note that one of the clauses in our contract with the faerie band was that a clan of goblins will be allowed to open a market nearby for the night. I am warning all of you: don't go there! Don't speak to the goblins, don't even look at them. If I or any other member of the staff will discover that you have been haggling with the good folk, we are not going to punish you: we are going to let them take the payment from you! Trust me, once that happens would wish very very much for a punishment from us.
Annnnnd... that's about all, I believe. Have a nice day etc. Say a nice goodbye, George",
echoes the voice as the white avatar claps his hands cheerfully.
"He will be giving away autographs of me for free at the door. Only 3.99 pawns for a greeting card. Very nice deal..."

So the voice disappears.

Some magical beings have no use for money or physical goods. They trade units of magical energy to which human magi refer as "pawns". It seems that four pawns make up a "knight", four knights make up a "rook", four rooks make up a "bishop", and forty bishops make up a "queen". Does it make sense? Probably not.
Then, what does?

"Thank you, whoever's up there," Sven whispered to himself as the speech ended. He looked over to see that Rochelle still seemed to be suffering from the after-effects of the spell Oneirius used. He asked, "You okay?" as he leaned closer to her.

Lillith brought her tail back to her own seat, unwinding it from her friends' legs and sat back. She turned her head to face Rochelle and Sven, almost thankful that they had not grown old and withered to dust already.

"Yeh. Really useful Sven. I'm sure the knowledge that we can buy the guy's signature for a Knight is really going to help us at some point. I'm sure glad that we stayed..." Her voice was thick with sarcasm, albeit very bored sarcasm. "Come on..." She stood and started slithering down the stairs, gesturing for the two of them to follow.

Well... what could she do now? No lessons, a party tomorrow night, no way off the school grounds. Oh. And two friends whom she now had to stick with for fear of one of them unleashing her secret to the world. That too.

Nathan heard the sounds of students leaving the auditorium and looked back at his friend

"Get me what I need and you'll get what you need"

The boy smirked, then turned and walked away

Sven was mildly annoyed by Lillith's sarcasm. "Hey, I haven't dealt with goblins before, so the heads-up on those guys is something I would have regretted missing, even if you wouldn't. And what is this about knights and pawns?"

After getting his answer, he turned his attention back to Rochelle, who seemed to be doing a little better, but was still noticeably shaken. "Do you need to go to the infirmary?"

Jon slipped in late, calmly assuring everyone that he had merely been t the toilet and making sure they believed him. He saw his angelic friend in some degree of pain, and as he moved past in the crush of bodies he laid a hand on her shoulder, pulsing a mental anesthetic to take away the pain. Quick as he had come, he whirled away into the crowed, spotting Nathan apparently disagreeing with someone

Sauntering over, he asked "Was that a friend of yours perchance?"
