Still, she has a masters degree in Political Science. I can't blame her being a politician dealing with many issues at once, to confuse South and North Korea. Thou its kinda weird how much money she has, power, and fame and yet people still talk down to her, just cause shes a Republican, seriously any other party people would be praising her.
im ashamed to call myself a republican because of sarah palin
really? thats the reason your ashamed to call yourself one? its none of the other things?
theres a whole list of reasons shes just the one on top right now
but heres a few

our general extreme right wing agenda
o the public image of us as weapon toting maniacs (actually that one does apply to me i have a pair of twin hook swords hung on the wall above my tv and several knives)
but yeah shes the current number one
you forgot massive hypocrisy, Im of course referring to them being all anti gay and then being caught with rent boys or trying to pick up men in airport bathrooms, among other things
dam i knew i forgot something i was thinking it was the fact that we generally have complete fucktards in the party
lol, that certainty seems to be true, begs the question of why vote republican since they all seem to be major assholes, yeah I know the dems are pussies but even with the dems in major control they seemed to like to counter each other more then anything so I view them as a safer bet.
well i see it this way instead of witch party is the best to run its more like witch foot you would rather be shot in

well considering what kind of weird shit the republicans around here like to pull, major redistricting for political gain (yeah it happened in other places but my state was one of the first) and pretending that succession is a good idea, Im gonna have to go with dems, stupid 2 party system, where is the bullmoose party when you need it

Psssh, she mis-spoke. It happens all the time, and politicians on both sides get mocked for it. It's made into a bigger deal with Republican cantidates usually though.

All told I think it's pretty obvious she meant South Korea. I've said (or even typed) the wrong thing based on what I was thinking at the time myself.

Oh don't get me wrong, she deserves to be made fun of, I mean this is sort of like the Dan Quayle spelling bee incident, but it's nothing to take too seriously.

That said, while right wing I am not a huge Sarah Palin fan.

Unlike the general leanings here, I tend to agree with a lot of what the Tea Party says, and what it stands for. However where I break from what it says, it's not a small differance of opinion. I lean far more to the right than the left, but I do have some liberal views (just things rarely discussed in forums like these).

I think Palin is a good balancing force for the right wing, but I am hoping she isn't run directly against Obama. That's a choice I'm not liable to make until the last minute, and for me would be a "lesser of two evils" thing due to the problems I have with both of them. I'd rather see a cantidate I can agree with, without any major divides. Of course that's the dream of every American, and we rarely see it.

I love when the guy corrects her and her only response is a quick "yeah". Not an "Oh shit", or "damn, well that's embarrassing."

This is the person who could "probably win" the Republican nomination? I fear for the 2012 elections, and I don't know if it's my lack of faith in the nominees or in the voters. Granted, no party has or will ever not slip up, but seriously, get that woman some geography courses. I can't help it if she's the next president, but at least get her some advisors that try and cover up those stories. I'd really rather not know how stupid a leader of 300mil people is.

Sir John the Net Knight" post="18.247138.9070234"]Wow a simple slip up in phrasing, that's no way worse than not being able to realize that you can't eliminate a debt by spending more money.

[/quote]

The thing I love about this post is the pure, grade-A intellectual dishonesty on display. Where do I even begin? Oh, wait, how about I start with the tangible and work my way to the abstract?

First off, Obama's major spending policies: the stimulus, healthcare reform (which the CBO ran the numbers for, and concluded it actually reduces the deficit, because it also cut waste), and the auto bailouts (which have already been paid off) were not done to 'eliminate a debt.' They were done to get projects started that would get people working again, deal with the problem of America's poor healthcare system (which even detractors of the bill, at least the honest ones, said was something that needed to be addressed), and prevent some of the few major businesses that employ several thousands of workers go under, respectively. The stimulus and the bailout were short-term increases in spending that were designed to get things back on track before they got worse. Like them or don't like them, fine, but saying that Obama's trying to 'eliminate debt by spending more money' is factually wrong.

Second off: The first Obama deficit actually ended up being lower [http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE69E54M20101016] than Bush's last deficit, despite the additions of the programs I mentioned above to Bush's two wars and largely irresponsible spending policies. Incidentally, the only reason the deficit was projected to be higher was because Obama included the Iraq and Afghanistan wars into his budget, and also projected for Medicare reimbursements and disaster relief, which Bush did not do for any of his fiscal years (and yet Obama's considered 'irresponsible'?).

Third off: To bring this back to the topic at hand, I do consider Sarah Palin's continuous gaffes and noticeable idiocy to be a bad thing, and far worse than your easily-debunked example about the President. Palin has demonstrated not only that she's ignorant of the world beyond her front door, but also that she's unwilling to use basic reasoning skills, instead pretending to be 'folksy' to win over people. At the very least, anyone should be able to see how having elected officials so lacking in intelligence is dangerous, but I guess not, since people want her in office.

Can't really blame her for it. After all, she can't see the Korean Peninsula from her house.

I guess there its a choice between a man you don't agree with or a woman who is a compete idiot. Pick your poison in that case. Personally I'd go with the person I disagree with than someone who may cock up the job to the point that they leave a big black mark on the party I side with.

To put it in another way, I'd vote for you as president before I voted for a left winger who acted like Sarah Palin. I disagree with you on many points however you certainly ain't an idiot and while I wouldn't like some of your decisions... At least I'd know there was a competent thought process behind them. Voting for liberal SP may lead to decisions I like, I'd be constantly wandering what the thought process for making those choices was... Did she think it through... Will this have long term negative effects in the future... Stuff like that.

I have to disagree. I don't care how many issues she has to deal with, that is one bone-headed mistake.
