Obviously, she's been influenced by rays of Evil Communism from her backdoor neighbors.

If she gets elected, I will cry.

Er... Kind of easy to accidently say North instead of South, especially when you're saying it the entire day in high pressure situations. There are a lot worse mistakes to make.

I mean it's not like she's saying the French have no word for entrepenuer.

Gaffs for politicians aren't all that big a deal. Obama did say he had visited all 57 states of the USA. Still, Palin makes them more often and displaying more stupidity. When she was first interviewed for her role as McCain's running mate she didn't know:
- Who was behind the 9/11 attacks, (repeatedly suggesting that it was Saddam Hussain.)
- Didn't know who or what America was fighting in Iraq, (a war her son was fighting in.)

To be fair no one knows why America is fighting in Iraq.

God damn I wish she would just go away. I'm a conservative, and I generally vote Republican, and John McCain lost my vote when he decided Sarah Palin would be his running mate. After watching a few minutes of her I realized she was completely incompetent, not corrupt, just incompetent. She can't form a clear sentence that isn't provided to her beforehand, she has no original thoughts in that scatter-brained head, she couldn't even see an elected office through to full term. Which could be said the same of Obama. Neither were qualified for the positions they were running for.
But even then, if you confuse North Korea and South Korea, the DMZ of which has been considered a flashpoint for a major war between the Warsaw Pact countries and NATO, and now China and America specifically, for the past 60 fucking years, you shouldn't be allowed to talk, at all. If Glenn Beck has to correct you, and he's actually right in doing so, your mouth should be sewn shut. I guarantee you, if the Republican party puts her up for the nomination in 2012, they will lose. If they put up a sensible candidate that's not on the verge of death like McCain, or a complete batshit 15 minutes are up lunatic that can't finish a job as an elected official and confuses North and South Korea, they could stand a chance.
And that's why I voted for Bob Barr.

You know, I'm ready to suggest that any idiot that makes a thread like this be outright banned for stupidity. Clearly we're not working on a level of political discussion that seeks to rise above mudslinging and propaganda. And speaking of which, why do you people insist on bringing this shit to Off-Topic? If you want to make half-baked posts containing superficial arguments based on smear campaigns, go to R&P. That way I can pretend you don't exist and you can pretend you know what you're talking about.

It's a win/win!!!
You win a standing ovation. *Stands* *Single Clap* *Sits* :p

...but in all seriousness. Destroy the echochambers.

Looking through the windows from Britain it's kinda funny that odds are she'll be running for presidency in the next term.

No, I talk her down because she is an idiot.

Literally, just the amount of dumb things she has said is beyond me. Its one thing to say some of the pure word-vomit she says if she was a talk show host on FOX, but this lady is honestly considering running for office in one of the most powerful countries in the world. And she didn't know Africa was a Continent.

Look most of you guys are seriously overplaying this, if you had listened to the recording you would notice that she had corrected herself as soon as the radio station guy corrected her, it was an honest to god mistake, there will be stupid things that she will do or say but this isn't one of them. With that being said there is no way she'll actually be president , unless the democrats screw themselves over even more or the republicans don't find someone Better to run, which considering their most recent past they probably won't.

To sound like a sexist pig, I know there's gonna be women who vote for her just because they want a woman in office.

My response is: Wait for a woman worth putting on the office, she is not qualified
I really, really wish more people would've brought that up 2005 in Germany.
I still would have been right, but at least the damage wouldn't have been done...well, at least not this way.

On the Palin-issue, I don't even know what there still is to talk about. Quite obvious that this woman serves as a stupidly grinning puppet for lobbyists at best.
And the fact, that her most "positive" media-appearance was a series of 2nd-class porn-shorts that were dubbed a "parody"....and didn't even include her personally....and worked with actual quotes of here...well...like I said, everything's said and done.

Because she's stupid? How can you confuse North and South Korea? And she constantly says things that just make you facepalm.

well let's see how could a normal human being make a mistake? Hmm oh I know maybe by being human! Seriously shes not perfect, and making a single mistake does not constitute a verbal smacking Sure she's an idiot but making a misake does not make someone an idiot but it does make them human.

If it were just this one mistake I wouldn't say anything. But you get this sort of thing from her on an almost weekly basis, and that's not normal anymore, especially not for politicians who need to be careful about what they say and actually know what they're talking about.

I'll laugh so hard if she becomes the next president of the USA, and after that laugh I'll pray that my country immediately gets out of NATO so that we don't get into any wars caused by her incredible political skill.

To be honest, given Bush's track record you'd think that these sort of gaffs make her more likely of becoming president, and maybe even getting a second term!

Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck do not represent the views of the majority of Tea Party-ers. The media just attaches those two chuckleheads to the Tea Party to try to ruin the credibility of a legitimate grassroots movement.

At least I hope so, because it looks like the Tea Party is going to be our only way out of this whole Republican/Democrat dichotomy bullshit.
What part of the Koch Brothers financing the Tea Party through organizations like Americans for Prosperity makes it grassroots? It seems to be completely corporation founded, corporation run for corporation profit. The Tea Party are nothing but republicans on methamphetamine. You Tea Party does nothing to shatter the two party system, EVERY tea party candidate ran as a republican not as an independent.

Sir John the Net Knight earns a permanent ignore for the sheer ignorance of his flame baiting (and that's all his comment was, look at the complete lack of argument in his one sentence post).

Funny, I've always thought that the Tea Party was part of the whole Republican/Democrat dichotomy. Specifically, the Republican side.

Seriously, it seems geography classes in USA suck, generalization and assumption of course. ;)
Tell me about it.

I grew up in a school that had about 13 kids in my grade (and two of them were me and my twin brother) Right before high school my family moved to a big city. Where I was than part of a class with 500 students. I was shocked when I was in a classroom of 30 kids; The teacher said Label all the oceans and continents. Me and one other student (my twin brother :p) were the only ones able to label all 7 continents and 4 oceans (yes I'm aware there are now, technically 5 oceans but this was 15 years ago) Most had far too many since he didn't say how many continents there are.
Pardon me good sir, but in what state exactly do you go to school in, because im a student in Oklahoma and would get slapped across the face for failing this in 8th grade.

Perhaps kids are actually smarter now? Perish the thought.
I don't live where I did than, The school in question was in Amarillo Texas.
