Well I won't believe this without links to reliable sources, but how exactly do you make a movie out of a boardgame? Boardgames just don't seem like something that would translate very well to movies.

Just IMDB'ed all three of these (What the hell is Candyland anyway? I'm guessing it's another board game?). Nothing.

Zilch.

Nada.

This is gonna require sources. How the hell are they going to make a film based on Monopoly, anyway? Christian Bale and Dwane Johnson battle it out for Mayfair while Karl Urban gets Old Kent Road and a bunch of pinks and wins because he's got half the board?
you.. you never played candy land
weeps softly for your child hood

candyland would make a terrific movie.
Especially if they got the old Disney-style artists to make it. Something tells me this may be a "kids and stoners" movie in the making.

They should go to jail for this... directly, to jail. DO NOT pass go, DO NOT collect £200. Hahaha, and its relevant.
Oh, I see what you did there! Well played!

Perhaps as punishment they should sink their battleships...

No? Nothing? Not even a chuckle? Jeez, tough crowd.

Would it help to point out that just because they bought the rights doesn't necessarily mean a movie's absolutely going to be made? There's the logistics of it getting through developement hell before the filming would even begin.

That being said, they might not be so bad. Clue was much more a movie than I had ever expected it to be when I first saw it. It was full of campy fun. :D

I found that funny, but I took your meaning of "sink their bettleships" as making them imputent... Its bloody hilarious. XD

You would think in this economy that universal wouldn't want to squander its money, but what do I know. I guess they just have too much money and instead of just throwing it into a fire, want to release crap to the public.

Oh maybe its because all those quality movies based on video games were released they decided to take it to the next level of suck.

It's interesting to see everyone automatically say he's lying....

Anyway, I'm sure those movies will have hidden political undertones that will impress even me.

true it might not get released but the fact that they spent money to secure the rights means there going to atleast try to make a movie right?
and with 5 potential movies theres areasonable chance that at least one will get made.

and just fyi ridley scot (the director of the movie allien or as some call it the movie with some of the best camera work known to man)is directing monopoly and with that kind of backing i think we could well see monopoly the movie and it could be realy good and dare i say it.... deep.

I'm 22 and I remember Strecth.

He's stretchy. That's all you need to know.

He also has an evil brother and a dog, both stretchy.
