Few will have the greatness to bend history itself; but each of us can work to change a small portion of events, and in the total; of all those acts will be written the history of this generation

Face. Everyone needs a face. You'll die without a face.
this being said in the fashion of an overly optimistic show tune-y song of course

If you aspire to greatness, you must know what it looks like.

Excellence is not an act, but a habit. You are what you repeatedly do.

Time is more valuable than money. You can get more money, but you can't get more time.

The foolish man boats of his knowledge to everyone he meets, but refuses to share it.
The wise man silently seeks more knowledge and readily shares it when asked.

You know that so many people say that they find intelligence to be important in their perfect partner? Now I agree with that, but it's not the most important. You see, intelligence can best be compared to a seed. It's a great start yes, and very important, but a seed alone is nothing. A seed needs to be cared for, carefully tended to so it can grow into a beautifull flower. And that flower is called Wisdom.

Without intelligence, wisdom cannot grow. But intelligence that is not cared for witters away and becomes useless.

PS: No I haven't quoted anyone, I made that up myself.

Ahem..

Within every revolution, lies the seed of its own destruction. (I'm really not sure if this is a proper sentence, but I still had to say it)

The keys to man's salvation, continuation, and progression are also the keys to its destruction.
For example: fire.

take responsibility for your own actions, no one else is going to.

And I quote, "But any rational observer has to see that the Left and Right in America are screaming the most vile accusations at each other all the time. we are fully polarized-if you accept one idea that sounds like it belongs to either the blue or the red, you are assumed- nay, required-to espouse the entire rest of the package, even though there is no reason why supporting the war against terrorism should imply you're in favor of banning all abortions and against restricting the availability of firearms; no reason why being in favor of keeping government-imposed limits on the free market should imply you are in favor of giving legal status to homosexual couples and against building nuclear reactors. These issues are not remotely related, and yet if you hold any of one group's views, you are hated by the other group as if you believed them all; and if you hold most of one group's views, but not all, you are treated as if you were a traitor for deviating even slightly from the party line." Orson Scott Card, Empire (in the afterword).

"There are some poor souls who, at no fault of their own, are completely and totally sane. It is the job of those of us who have gleefully flown out of our own small brains to aid them in leaving theirs." - random guy at Taco Bell

I can't remember who said it, but "Life only ever has one price. Why does everyone fear it so?"

War. War never changes. Romans waged war to gather slaves and wealth. Spain built an empire from its lust of gold and territory. Hitler shaped a battered Germany into an economic superpower. But war never changes.
